Module 4 Assignment

In this module, we have reviewed the advantages and disadvantages of remote teams and learned
how to manage and support a virtual team. For this assignment, you will watch a video parody
of a real Zoom meeting (2:10 m).
Real Life Zoom Meeting

You may need to watch it a couple of times to respond to the following questions.
List 5 problems that this virtual team has in this meeting.
1. There was little to no focus by the members in the meeting
2. Members of the meeting did not wait for each other's replies and kept on having repetitive
messages and talking over one another
3. There were a lot of distractions going on in the background. Like notifications, pets a
member was seen playing a game.
4. Most of the members were not present at the start of the meeting coming in after the
meeting had begun was causing distractions
5. There was an obvious lack of technical skills among members of the team, as seen in the
video some were having issues logging in, others were having network issues.
Outline 5 recommendations to improve the performance of this virtual team.
1. They should perform physical anchoring activities to keep them focused during the
meetings
2. The team lead could use a raise hand system of high five model so that whoever wants to
speak can signify.
3. The team members should avoid distractions by muting notifications and keeping external
distractions away from the meeting room and ensure focus on the meeting.
4. The team lead needs to keep track of the team members' productivity levels and monitor
progress for individual tasks.
5. Introduction of a variety of user-friendly communications channels and choose the right
software to be used
