MODULE 1

LESSON 3: ROLES OF TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING

ACTIVITY 1: Experience as a Learner

How Technology Influenced My Life as a Learner

Technology is a very helpful tool for everybody especially for me as a student/learner. It

plays a crucial role in our everyday life, and one of that is to provide important information which
is needed to stay updated on what’s happening inside and outside of our country. The traditional
way of doing visual aids have been replaced by computer generated presentation such as:
PowerPoint presentation, video clips, projector etc. which is more easier to use especially to our
current situation where face to face classes are no longer allowed technology makes us stay
connected to each other in spite of COVID19 Pandemic, we can still have an interactive classes all
because of technology.

ACTIVITY 2: Expectations as a Future Teacher

How will I use Technology When I Become a Teacher?

When I become a teacher I will Use technology responsibly. All I going to do is what
important and what is needed in my teaching. I will use technology to create a creative learning
material to capture the interest of my student and to have an enjoyable learning.

E-pollutants from e-waste

Title of the Issue: E-pollutants from e-waste

Title of the Article: E-Waste: A Global Hazard

Source: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214999614003208

Author: Devin N. Perkins

Narrative Summary: Waste from end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment,

known as e-waste, is a rapidly growing global problem. E-waste contains valuable
materials that have an economic value when recycled. Unfortunately, the majority of e-
waste is recycled in the unregulated informal sector and results in significant risk for
toxic exposures to the recyclers, who are frequently women and children.

What lesson have you learned? E-waste recycling is necessary but it should be
conducted in a safe and standardized manor. When possible, e-waste should be
refurbished and reused as a complete product instead of dismantled.

What suggestions can you offer? I suggest to expand the life span of technology and
also the Policies that provides incentives to promote safe, regulated, and recompensed
recycling for e-waste should be universal.
