Let’s Make Breadfruit Caramel

cARAMEL BREADFRUIT

INGREDIENTS: HOW TO MAKE:

PROCEDURE TEXT

Definition

Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved


through a sequence of actions or steps. It explains how people perform different
processes in a sequence of steps.

Generic Structure

A Procedure text is devided into 3 main parts. They are:


1. Goal: it gives the aim of the procedure text.
2. List of materials or equipment: things that are needed to
complete the procedure.
3. Method/directions/sequence of steps: ways which are to be
completed, to achieve this goal.
Let’s Check

Language Features

1. Using "imperative sentences". (Stir it well; Cut the potatoes into chunks)
2. Using "sequence adverbs". It is as the sign of the sequence of events. (First,
second, then, after that, the next, before, when, while, at the same time, finally, the last)
3. Using "action verbs" (cook, prepare, add, blend, slice, cut, stick, etc)
4. Using "adverbial phrases, manner, time, frequency" (Stir carefully, cook for five minutes,
put it 2 centimeters from top, serve while hot)

Kinds of Procedure Texts

1. Recipe (making caramel breadfruit, how to make virgin coconut oil, etc)
2. Instruction or manual (How to make red bricks, how to make ukulele from coconut shells, etc)
