 Goal setting: Goal setting involves the development of an action plan designed in order to

motivate and guide a person or group toward a goal. Goals are more deliberate than desires
and momentary intentions. Therefore, setting goals means that a person has committed thought,
emotion, and behavior towards attaining the goal. Setting goals helps trigger new behaviors,
helps guides your focus and helps you sustain that momentum in life. Goals also help align
your focus and promote a sense of self-mastery. In the end, you can't manage what you don't
measure and you can't improve upon something that you don't properly manage. Using goal-
setting theory to motivate employees offers a host of benefits, including: Higher levels of
engagement. This framework can help employees hit their goals. That success can lead to
higher levels of employee engagement and job satisfaction. Goal-setting is the process of
taking active steps to achieve your desired outcome. Maybe your dream is to become a
teacher, musician or physical therapist. Each one of these dreams involves setting and reaching
small (and big!) Brainstorm actionable objectives. Identify realistic and specific goals. 2 Break

parameters for your personal satisfaction and accomplishment as a professional. By
identifying your own values and what matters most to you, you can be intentional in your
career search and use your values to shape your path forward. Whatever career path you choose
to follow, it will impact your life greatly. Your career will define your status in a society in
addition to your lifestyle. In other words, your career will determine your social circle and
relationships. Therefore, it is extremely important to choose the correct career path.

 Challenges in achieving your goals: Daily Challenges, as the name suggests, are daily objectives
that you can achieve for a variety of rewards. The more challenges you complete, the more
rewards you can get. Overcoming Obstacles to Achieving Your Goals. Putting your goals off
until 'someday.Waiting to take action until you 'feel' ready. Not anticipating the tough times.
Viewing mistakes as failure. Not making your goal a priority. Underestimating how hard it will
be. Giving up before you see results. Time. Often we say we do not have time, but in most
cases, we are just not making the time. Poor Communication Skills. Being able to write and
speak clearly is important to success. Availability of Resources and Opportunities. Clarity and
Uncertainty. Finding Fault in Others.

Personal values and goals: Being responsible is a value. Owning a home is a goal. You can engage in
responsible behavior each day that may lead to achieving your goal and continue to live that value even
after you have achieved the goal. Integrity, kindness, honesty, and financial securityare typical
examples of personal core values. Others often see these values as your character traits. For example,
someone is known for always doing). These are: Conformity, Tradition, Security, Power, Achievement,
Hedonism, Stimulation, Self-Direction, Universalism, and Benevolence. The HV Love, Peace, Truth,
Right Conduct and Nonviolence are latent in every human being, they are our very natural and true
characteristic.
