Lesson Plan TLE Grade 7 Family and Consumer Science (FCS) 3rd Quarter

I. CURRICULUM CONTENT, STANDARDS, AND LESSON COMPETENCIES

A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of the fundamentals of the hospitality and tourism industry.
B. Performance Standards The learners apply skills in food preparation and services following safety precautions.
C. Learning Competencies Learning Competency: Demonstrate table napkin folds
and Objectives At the end of the lesson/s, the learners will be able to:
a. define what is table napkin folds,
b. execute the steps in table napkin fold, and
c. give the importance of table napkin folds in table settings.

D. Content Basic Table Napkin Fold

E. Integration
Mathematics: The use of Geometric shapes and angles in creating various napkin folds.

Arts and Design: Napkin folding as an art form, exploring symmetry, shapes, and pattern.

By integrating the topic of the table napkin folds across these subjects, students can gain
multidisciplinary understanding that combines practical skills and theoretical knowledge.

Knowledge Activity 1. Anagram Game: NAPKIN
Directions:
1. The class will be divided into 4 groups.
2. The teacher will show the meaning of a certain word to
be guessed and formed by the students using the letters
from the word NAPKIN.
3. The 1st group to give the correct answer will get 2
points. Other groups with correct term will receive 1
point.

B. Establishing Lesson * The teacher will show the video clip on the steps of Lotus Napkin
Purpose Fold.

*The teacher then discusses the steps and demonstrate one by one.

STEPS IN MAKING LOTUS NAPKIN FOLD


1. Fold each corner into the center.
2. Then fold each corner into the center again.
3. Flip the napkin over and fold the corners into the center.
4. Hold first layer in place and pull the second layer of fabric
out from beneath the corners.
5. Then, tug the second layer until the lotus petals form and
stand up.

Understanding Direction: The students will demonstrate/execute the steps of
Lotus Napkin Fold following the Performance Rubrics.
