Activity summary
Throughout the course of my 4-week internship, each day presented new opportunities for
hands-on learning, skill development, and meaningful contributions to the project. The
following paragraphs provide a detailed account of the tasks and activities I engaged in on a
day-to-day basis: Week 1: 1.Orientation and Project Overview On the first day of my
internship, I underwent an orientation session where I was introduced to the company's work
culture, safety protocols, and team members. I received an overview of the project I would
be working on. 2.1 2-D Sketches First in order to get me used to complex sketches, my
mentors provided me 2D sketches so that I can learn how to analyze the sketches. In 3D
EXPERIENCE, a 2D sketch is a fundamental element used to create and define the basic
shapes and profiles that serve as the foundation for 3D models. These sketches are typically
created in the Sketcher workbench within 3D EXPERIENCE's Part Design or Sketcher
workbenches and can be used to generate various 3D features. Here are some key
characteristics and purposes of 2D sketches in 3D EXPERIENCE: 1. Planar Geometry: 2D
sketches are drawn on a single plane, such as the XY, YZ, or XZ plane. These sketches
represent flat, two-dimensional shapes. 2. Profiles: Sketches can be used to define profiles of
features like extrusions, revolves, sweeps, and lofts. The profiles outline the cross-sectional
shape of these 3D features. 3. Sketch Elements: Sketches are composed of various geometric
elements like lines, arcs, circles, rectangles, ellipses, and more. You create and manipulate
these elements to form the desired shape. 4. Complex Shapes: Multiple sketches can be
combined to create more complex shapes and profiles. You can link sketches together,
reference one sketch in another, or use sketch elements to build upon each other. Overall, 2D
sketches in 3D EXPERIENCE are essential building blocks for creating 3D models. They
enable you to define the geometry, relationships, and constraints necessary for accurate and
controlled 3D modeling in 3D EXPERIENCE's various workbenches like Part Design,
Assembly Design, and Generative Shape Design

manufacturing, and product design, and it offers extensive capabilities for creating, visualizing, and

20
analyzing assemblies of components. Here's an overview of assembly modeling in 3D EXPERIENCE:

21
1. Components and Parts: In assembly modeling, the building blocks are individual components or
parts. Each part represents a distinct object or piece within the assembly, such as a bolt, gear, housing,
or any other element.

2. Assembly Context: An assembly in 3D EXPERIENCE provides a context in which these individual

components can be brought together and positioned relative to one another. The assembly context
defines how the parts interact and fit together.

3. Constraints and Relationships: Assembly modelling involves defining relationships and constraints
between parts to control their relative positions and movements. Common constraints include mate,
flush, coincident, concentric, and more. These constraints ensure that parts fit together accurately and
behave as expected.
