Journal Reports
For these short assignments I would like you to find some qualitative journal articles that
irked your interest or curiosity. What you should do is read it, describe the content in details,
and make a comment about the journal, at least two page of length. The comment could be a
combination of some quotations, some part of the journal, or an entire idea that the author has
advanced. You can discuss how you agree or disagree with the point or whether it is a new
idea to you and why it challenges your current understanding (s). Please consider these
reports as exercises to get prepared for writing a proposal for your thesis. I am not interested
in a translation of the journal, but your ideas and thoughts. You can combine more than one
passage or a theme across readings as desired. If you wish, you could use literatures (e.g.
journal articles, text books, etc.) to enrich your thoughts. This reports should be reported
every week of our class session.

Group Research Project

Designing and implementing qualitative research projects. It is an experiential learning
of qualitative research by really doing the research. It will be started by developing your
understanding about a research problem, analyse its importance and relevance in addressing
some problematic issues, understand the design of the research process, going to the field,
documenting the data, interpreting it, and reporting it to the class. This project must be
completed on the 12th session of our class.
