Protection Explanation
Reversed charging Such as at night, the voltage of the battery may be higher than solar panel. The
Protection of solar controller protect the battery from charging the solar panel.
When the battery polarity is reversed, the controller does not work and there is no

properly after it is connected correctly, just need to replace the fuse .
Battery open circuit After long-term use, the battery may be Open-Circuit or poor connect. The
Protection controller can protect itself from damage.Check the connection regularly
Over voltage When it’s strong wind or over voltage, the controller will automatically start
Over current braking function to protect the wind generator and battery. The controller will
Over load voltage Protection automatically cuts off the circuit when the output is over voltage.
Lightning protection refers to the last level of protection necessary for equipment.
For lightning-prone areas, special lightning protection devices and other

1.2 Charging stage introduction

1.3 Introduction of the MPPT

The Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) system is an advanced charging technology that
enables solar panels to output more power by adjusting the working state of electrical modules. Due to
the non-linearity of a solar array, there is a maximum energy output point (maximum power point) on the
curve of the array. Traditional solar charge controllers (switch charging technology and PWM charging
technology) cannot charge batteries at this point, thus unable to obtain the maximum energy of solar
panels. However, the solar energy charge controller equipped with the MPPT control technology can
track the maximum power point of a solar array at any time in order to gain maximum energy for battery
charging.Take the 12V system for example. The peak voltage of solar panels (Vpp) is around 17V and
battery voltage is about 12V. Generally, when the solar charge controller is charging a battery, the
voltage of solar panel is maintained at about 12V, indicating that the maximum power is not used.
MPPT solar charge controllers provide a solution to that problem by constantly adjusting the input
voltage and current of solar panels, therefore maximizing input power.
Compared with conventional PWM solar charge controllers, MPPT solar charge controllers bring
out the maximum power of solar panels and provide greater charging current. Generally speaking,
MPPT solar charge controllers can improve energy utilization rate by 15% ~ 20% over PWM solar
charge controllers.(Figure 1)
Moreover, different environmental temperatures and light conditions lead to frequent changes of
the maximum power point. Our MPPT solar charge controller can constantly adjust parameters
according to different conditions so as to put the system near the maximum working point all the time.
The whole process is completely automatic without any adjustment by users.(Figure 2)

The figure is a schematic diagram of the principle of wind turbine MPPT charging. WIND+and
WIND - are the DC input terminals of the generator after being rectified by the internal rectifier circuit
of the controller. BAT+and BAT - are battery energy storage connection terminals.
L1 is the MPPT power inductor, which is used to store energy during the MPPT charging process.
D1 is a reverse isolation protection diode that can reduce the loss caused by the conduction of the
switch.
Q1 is a switching MOSFET, which is the core component of the MPPT circuit. It controls the
operation of the MOSFET through a high-frequency PWM drive waveform, thereby adjusting the fan to
the maximum power operation state.
Due to the constant changes in the wind speed and direction of the natural wind, timely tracking
and adjustment are required. According to the generator input signal sampled by the controller, the
circuit adjusts the driving waveform of MOS tube Q1 in real time through MCU analysis and control
and MPPT software algorithm, thereby achieving instant response and achieving MPPT charging effect.
The ordinary wind turbine charging controller can only be charged when the fan is large and the fan
voltage is higher than the battery voltage. The MPPT controller of this product can not only meet this
requirement, but also realize the breeze charging function by boosting the lower fan input voltage
through the MPPT boost circuit when the wind force is low and the fan input voltage is lower than the
battery voltage, and allowing the fan to operate at the maximum power point.

2 Installation and Electrical Connection

2.1 Mounting Notes
Read through this entire section first before installation, and install in accordance with this
manual.
All mounting work must only be performed by professional personnel.
Disconnect all sources of power to the controller before installing or adjusting.
Do not allow water and snows enter the controller.
Keep away from corrosive gases and strong electromagnetic interference.
Installation site should be convenient for installation, electrical connection and later
maintenance.
When installing in the cabinet, sufficient space should be left around the controller or reliable
heat dissipation should be achieved through the cabinet.

2.2 Wiring Steps(Follow the bellow suggestions and steps to connect)

2.2.1 Dump load connection(external dump load)
- +

External dump load resistor

(Connect the controller and external unloading resistor as shown in the above figure, regardless of sequence
and positive and negative electrodes)
Note: If the dump load resistor is not connected and the wind turbine is connected, it may cause damage
to the controller, which is not within the warranty.

2.2.2 Output load connection
