Critical Success Factors
Current healthcare around the world presents a contrasting landscape. At one end there is advanced
medical equipment, qualified medical professionals and well-equipped hospitals and clinics, while at the
other end medical care costs and an aging population are desperately trying to keep up with the
complexity of the future. Since healthcare is one of the most sensitive industries that are directly
connected to us in almost every way, mentally, physically, emotionally and financially; The impact of the
new economy and technology in health care requires urgent attention to address the challenge they
bring. The new economy empowered by emerging technologies has changed the market landscape and
no industry has been left untouched by this change. In the current tech landscape, the dynamics of both
hardware and software are changing. For example, according to a report by Health Solution Specialists,
48 percent of medical devices are connected via IoT, which is expected to increase to 68 percent in the
next five years. Research firm Markets and Markets has revealed that the connected medical device
market is expected to grow threefold from 2017 to 2022.
Software applications such as appointment management system, patient administration system and
laboratory information management system used in hospitals are also very poor at ground level. To
harness the potential of healthcare technology to transform health systems and develop a connected
healthcare environment, healthcare leaders and clinicians must establish close relationships with medical
manufacturers and software application development companies. They can share information and
develop new business models and scenarios that can improve adoption of new technology in healthcare.
The problem is that the use of relational databases cannot efficiently handle unstructured data collected
from multiple sources, meaning that the value of the information they obtain is not absolute.
Healthcare companies should plan all models for all management layers—operational, tactical, and
strategic, and partner with a trusted integrator that has a mature service management process to
support integrated health systems. The cost crisis in health care is not new. From device
manufacturers to medical drug manufacturing companies and insurance policy providers to payers,
there are many stakeholders who play a critical role in determining the price of healthcare services.
According to some health tracking polls, although most people confirm they can afford their
treatment, one in four have difficulty affording their medication. In addition, MHCT breaks down
the total payment into smaller parts to help patients/payers better plan their financial and
payment strategy.
Several industry groups predict a shortage of nearly 100,000 physicians by 2030. Here, technology
can help in many ways, such as the use of telehealth. Live streaming, store-and-forward imaging,
remote patient diagnostics can improve access to healthcare even in remote areas. The Bureau of
Labor Statistics Employment Projections 2016-2026 also projects a need for an additional 203,700
new RNs each year through 2026 to fill newly created positions and replace retiring nurses.
However, professional development and infrastructural improvement on a regular basis are critical
to reduce staff shortages in healthcare.
Problems identified by the MHCT
❑ Each Hospital maintains its own medical records that is not shared with other
hospitals or with other branches.
❑ Most Medical practioners rely on patients self reporting to reconstruct their
records when they change health care providers.
❑ As a result not all of the data is provide properly to the practioners resulting
in treatment or medication errors.
❑ Patients it self not maintain proper records of their health records in this
connection practioners unable to understand the disease properly.
❑ Single and old patients getting complicate to visit the hospitals proper health
checks and medication so that patient not getting 100% treatment.
❑ Patient visit to the hospital getting very risky in the coming years as per the
cautions of the WHO
❑ Now a days hospital visiting time is very high this is very big problem for
patient attenders.
❑ Travel and transportation expenses to visit the hospital are also significantly
more in urban areas.
