SPEED

Players need different forms of speed


to perform – reactive speed (speed
off the mark, to the breaking ball etc),
acceleration (ability to change speed and

over a distance), speed endurance (ability
to maintain speed over a distance and
time). It is important to remember that
speed is largely genetic – some people
are genetically more likely to be fast than
others. However through proper training
players can become quicker.
