What is a Demonstrative Pronoun?

Demonstrative pronoun is a kind of pronoun that is used to point to something

specific within a sentence.

There are only four demonstrative pronoun in English:

1. This

2. That

3. These

4. Those

Examples:

. That is a good idea.

. These are hilarious cartoons.

. I buy this book, but she buys that.

Note: All demonstrative pronoun do not need a noun.

How to use demonstrative pronouns

This: is used for a singular noun that is near in distance.


Example: This is my book.

That: is used for a singular noun that is far in distance.


Example: That is your car.

These: is used for a plural noun that is near in distance.


Example: These are my books.

Those: is used for a plural noun that is far in distance.

Regular Verb
What is a Regular Verb?

Regular Verb is a kind of verb that ends in “ed “ when being changed to the past and

past participle form.

Examples:
• walk — walked— walked

• dance— danced— danced

• paint— painted— painted

• work— worked— worked

How to add “ ed “ to the verbs to create the past forms of regular verbs.

For regular verbs, the “simple past tense “ and “ past participle “ are formed like

this:

1. Add “ed” to the verbs simply.

• jump— jumped

• paint— painted

2. If a verb of one syllable ends [ consonant-vowel-consonant], double the final

consonant and add “ ed”.

• chat— chatted

• stop— stopped

3. If the final consonant is “ w”, “ x “, or “ y”, don’t double it.

• sew— sewed

• play— played
• fix— fixed

4. If the verb ends “ e”, just add “ d “.

• thrive — thrived

• guzzle — guzzled

5. If the verb ends [ consonant + “y”] , change the “y” to an “ i“ and add “ ed “.

• cry — cried

• fry — fried
