Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) Format

DLP No./Date: April 19, 2023 Learning Area: MATHEMATICS 10 Grade Level: Quarter: Duration:
10 4 30 minutes
Illustrates and interprets the following measures Code:
Learning Competencies
of central tendency. M10SP-IVh-j-1
Key Concepts / Understandings Demonstrates understanding of key concepts of measures of central tendency.
to be Developed
1. Objectives
Knowledge Define the measures of central tendency (mean, median, and mode);
Skills Calculate the measure of central tendency;
Attitudes Apply measures of central tendency appropriately; and
Values Show appreciation to the value of mean, median, and mode in real life scenario.
2. Content Mean, Median, Mode
3. Learning Resources E-Math 7 (K-12) Third Edition 2012
4. Materials Book, Visual Aids, Blackboard and chalks, (PowerPoint if possible)
5. Procedures
The teacher starts the class with the daily routine, such as:
 Opening Prayer
 Greetings
 Classroom Management
Introductory Activity:
( minutes)
 Checking of Attendance
5

The teacher will ask the students about the previous lesson, if they really understood about
the previous topic and what have they learnt on it.

The teacher will show the updated price-list of fruits in Nanay Belen’s store, and students will
answer the following questions individually. The materials are provided in the activity. The answer
will be paste/written/shown on the board/tv.

Updated price=list of fruits in Nanay Belen’s store:

Pineapple -60/kilo
Mango -100/kilo
Banana -60/kilo
Watermelon -120/kilo
Activity:
Strawberry -480/kilo
( 5minutes)
Avocado -130/kilo
Grapes -200/kilo

Task:
1. Arrange the set of prices in ascending order.
2. Find the average of the data.
3. Encircle the middle price.
4. Underline the price that appears most frequently.

The teacher will ask the following:

1. How do you find the activity?

2. Did you try to ask your classmates how the teachers compute your general average in all
subjects?
Analysis:
( 5minutes)
Learning this different process is useful not only in Mathematics but also in real life situation.
Like, adding all data and dividing it into how many sets are there. This process is what we call the
average, just like how to get your general average of your grades in all subjects. Next, identifying
the centermost of everything. And lastly, the common for all.

The teacher will present the topic about Measures of Central Tendency, and give the
meaning of the different types of Measures of Central Tendency.
Abstraction:
Where, we can call the average as Mean, the centermost or the middle as Median, and the
( 5minutes)
common or the most frequent data as Mode.

Application: The teacher will give a set of data that base on the scores of the 20 students in their biology
( 5minutes) quiz.
Activity:
Direction: Find the mean, median, and mode of the following set of data.
25 33 35 45 34
26 29 35 38 40
45 38 28 29 25
39 32 27 47 45

The students will be tasked to analyze the given data and answer the
following questions.

Direction: The data below show the score of 20 students in the 2012 Division
Achievement Test (DAT).
Type:
__̷_ Pen & Paper 35 16 28 43 16
Assessment:
__ Oral Recitation 20 18 25 22 38
( 5minutes)
__ Others, specify. 23 32 18 25 22
___________ 36 22 17 22 15

a. What score is common to group of students?

b. What score appears to be the median? How many students fail
below that score?
