MODULE 0 - SECTION 4 - UNIT 2
SECTION TITLE: DISCUSS YOUR EXPECTATIONS
UNIT TITLE: WHAT ABOUT THE DISCUSSION FORUM?

Hello everyone,

In this video and the following ones, you are going to learn how
to use the discussion forum of the course to interact with the
other learners and ask your questions.

But you may ask yourself why you should use the discussion forum
of the course.

In this video, you are going to learn what a discussion forum is,
how it can be useful and how to go there.

A Discussion Forum ? What For ?

As a learner of the MOOC, you belong to a large community of
people who, just like you, want to learn. The discussion forum is
at the center of this community.

The discussion forum is open to all the learners who registered

for the MOOC. You will have the possibility to ask questions to
the pedagogical team, to express your ideas and to compare your
knowledge with other learners.

Of course, the discussion forum is for you a unique opportunity

to learn and share with thousands of other learners all around
the world.

Before starting, you need to know how to access the discussion

forum of the course.

How to Access the Discussion Forum ?

To access the forum, go to the main menu of the course and click
on the tab « discussion ».
You then arrive on the forum of the MOOC and see 2 different
sections.

The section on the left allows you to access the different topics
open to discussion in the MOOC.

As you can see, each topic discussion has :

- An icon on the left indicating that it is a discussion or a
question
- A bubble on the right. Its colour can change according to the way
you read the topics. If it is blue, it means that you have never
opened the discussion, if it is white, it means you have read the
discussion but there are new messages that have been posted. If
it is grey, it means that you have read all the messages.

The section on the right allows to show the discussion topic that
you have selected. You will see in the next two videos how to use
that section to follow and to participate in the exchanges.

In this video, you have learned why the discussion forum can be
useful and how to access it.

In the following videos, you are going to learn how to read

messages and how to answer them.
