1 Scope of instruction
The Sampled Values (SV) are using the ratios from the “Device” block inside the Test Object.
The Advanced Differential modules are using the ratios set in the “Differential” block inside the Test Object.
To work with SV in combination with the Advanced Differential modules, we need to set up the test as
followed.
2 Step-by-step instruction
Assumption for the following example on how to set up the test to work with the SV streams:
Primary CT ratio of 200/1
Secondary CT ratio of 800/1
Step 1: Set the CT ratios of the Primary and Secondary side in the Test Object block “Differential”
Step 2: Set the CT ratio of the Primary side in the Test Object block “Device”

Step 3: Define the virtual amplifier for the second SV stream (Secondary CT)
To get the correct amplification on the second SV stream use the following calculation
𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐 𝟐𝟎𝟎
𝑨𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 = 𝒅𝒆𝒇𝒂𝒖𝒍𝒕 𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 ∗ = 𝟓 𝑨⁄𝑽 ∗ = 𝟏, 𝟐𝟓 𝑨⁄𝑽
𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐 𝟖𝟎𝟎
Inside the Hardware Configuration add a new current amplifier and define the current amplifier like shown:
𝟏𝟎 𝑽
𝑴𝒂𝒙. 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆 (𝑹𝑴𝑺) = ∗ 𝑨𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 = 𝟕, 𝟎𝟕 𝑽 ∗ 𝟏, 𝟐𝟓 𝑨⁄𝑽 = 𝟖, 𝟖𝟑 𝑨
√𝟐
Now both SV streams (Primary and Secondary CT) are configured correctly.
Note:
If you have a third (tertiary) side connected, you need to define an additional current amplifier for the third
SV stream. Keep in mind to use the Tertiary Ratio instead of the Secondary to calculate the amplification.
