OBJECTIVES:
i) To learn and apply basic video editing techniques. Eg: Capcut.
ii) To Improve Audio Editing and Synchronization Techniques:
THEORY:
Audio refers to the component that involves sound, whether it's music, speech, sound effects,
or any other auditory content. Audio is a crucial element in multimedia productions, as it
enhances the overall experience by adding depth, emotion, and realism to the visual content.
Video refers to the component that involves moving images, typically accompanied by audio.
It's a fundamental element for conveying visual information, narratives, and messages in
various multimedia applications such as movies, television, video games, presentations, and
online content.
Above screenshot shows us the menu box of CapCut which is located in the top-left corner.
When we tap on the menu button, an option bar with various options such as File,
Edit,Layout,Settings,Help, Quit, etc appears. In order to import any audio or video we need for
the edit, we should tap on file >import.
Once the import is done, all the required data can be available to edit .The above option also
shows us various editing options that capcut can provide us.
Capcut timeline:
Above screenshot shows us the timeline of the CapCut .This is the most primary component of
the application as this is where all the work needed on the video is done. Here, we cut the
videos to our wanted duration and arrange them in the order we want .We can also apply key
frames, change visibility and adjust sounds here.
Video/Audio Settings:
Above two screenshots show the detail window for both video and audio respectively. This is
where we can adjust the settings for both audio and video.
In the case of video clips we can adjust its, position, scale, speed and also add various
animations and mask the clip if necessary. Many others features are also available.
In the case of audio, an editor can adjust the volume to their liking, apply fade in or fade out
features add various voice effects and also change the speed of the audio.
Along with the video/audio edits, we can also see the ‘Export’ button in the given
screenshot .this button is used to save the edited video in the device when all work related to it
has been completed.
CapCut Player:
Above screenshot shows the video player or the preview window for CapCut. This is where the
editing progress and the clips/effects in the timeline can be viewed. The player window can be
expanded, magnified and also the aspect ratio for and can be changed through the 16:9 button
we can see in the screenshot.
Conclusion:
Hence through this lab, we learn the basics functionalities of a video and audio editing
application particularly capcut and also develop a rough idea on how videos and audios can be
edited on it.
