Background
What is the Ignacy Lukasiewicz scholarship program? It’s believed many among us have seen
the call for application for the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship Program 2019, and have definitely
read through the content. This scholarship is basically awarded within the field of science,
natural science, engineering, technical sciences.

The Requirements

 We have been skeptical to writing the IELTS or TOEFL (English proficiency test) which is a
core requirement for securing Ignacy Lukasiewicz Scholarship Program. Anyway, the good news
is studying in English Language as a means of tutoring in your higher institution makes one
exempted from providing the English proficiency test. You only need to get a letter from your
department or lecturer providing evidence that your first degree was studied in English and
then upload at that part of the online application that asks for your English proficiency.

 Also, the most important factor for getting this scholarship is your “Research Proposal”. It’s
assessed by the recruitment team based on the following criteria;

 Correspondence of the topic and concept of master’s thesis with the areas of study
covered by the Program. Reviewer (0-1).
 Research plan and description of research method. Reviewer (0-5).
 The innovative nature of the proposed thesis. Reviewer (0-1).
 Feasibility of project implementation at a selected higher education institution.
Reviewer (0-1).
 Overall assessment of the application Committee on Programs for Students. Reviewer
(0-2). Making an overall range of (0-10).

 In order to obtain a positive quality assessment outcome, the applicant must receive a total
of at least 4 points, including no less than 2 points for criterion No. 2 – Research plan and
description of research method.

The Ranking List and Selection Decision:

The committee on Programs for Students, based on the reviewers’ assessment and its own
assessment, prepares a ranking list of applications and submits it to the NAWA Director. The
ranking list includes:

 Applicants who have received a positive quality assessment, recommended for funding.
 Applicants on the reserved list – with a positive quality assessment, who will receive
funding if no agreement is signed by another applicant who has been qualified for
funding.
 Applicants not qualified due to negative quality assessment.

All these mark the importance of the proposal in this aspect of scholarship. Guess you are half-
way through if you just started drafting your proposal.

NB. Being an awardee of this scholarship grants you the irremissible offer to study Polish
language for a semester or a year, depending on when your master’s program commences. This
is to integrate you into the Polish environment and culture.
