Artificial Intelligence is not just a tool; it's a transformative force shaping the future of technology,
society, and human potential."

Greetings! Today, I, Divyansh Singh, stand here to articulate my words against the motion “Topic.”

Ladies and gentlemen, Artificial Intelligence, or AI as we know it, is not a new term in today's world.
Open your smartphone and scroll through the apps—there will definitely be news pointing out the
latest developments in Artificial Intelligence, or it might be Google or Instagram promoting one of
their new updates featuring AI. Wouldn't you agree that Artificial Intelligence is the prime and hot
topic of today’s tech world?

Now, this vast technology, defined as a field of research in computer science that deals with creating
smart machines—yes, I repeat, smart machines—is transforming our lives. It's not that AI has done
magic, but it has undeniably boosted our efficiency and productivity.

Allow me to give you an example. Until recently, creating realistic fake graphics in Photoshop took
hours. But now, with AI in Photoshop, this once tedious task can be done in seconds. Want to put a
smile on your face? Done with a click. Change your hairstyle? Your hair can grow longer or shorter
with just one click. Isn't it fascinating what AI is capable of? AI can understand what I’m speaking
here and generate Hindi, Spanish, or German subtitles for it. It can automatically reply to emails,
write them for us, provide health advice, or work as a virtual assistant. The possibilities are endless!

We are witnessing a revolution. The job market is going to change, and so is the way of studying in
schools and colleges. To make my point clearer, let me present a statistic: according to Statista,
Instagram took 2.5 months to reach a million downloads, Spotify took 5 months, while ChatGPT took
only 5 days. Just look at the difference in days! Isn't that astonishing?

However, not everyone applauds this innovation. AI faces various allegations regarding the ethics it
compromises, the biases it creates, and the unemployment it might generate.

When it comes to unemployment, there's a common notion that AI will take over most manual jobs
in the economic sector. But let's look deeper. If AI will take over some jobs, it will definitely create
more. According to the World Economic Forum’s “The Future of Jobs Report 2020,” by 2025, AI will
have wiped out 85 million jobs, but it will also create 97 million more. So, is AI a job killer, or rather a
job category killer? AI won’t take your job, but a person knowing AI will. Let me clarify with an
example. Imagine a graphic designer who designs logos for organizations. With the emergence of AI,
the manual work done by this designer won't be required. Instead, an AI program would design the
logo. But here's the positive point: someone is still needed to give input to the device.

What am I conveying here? We must adapt to this new, revolutionizing world. In the coming years, AI
will become the new standard, and a person should have basic AI skills to seek a job. Just like basic
computer literacy is required for getting a job today.

A question might arise: what is the advantage of such a revolution if the standards of basic skills are
rising drastically? Friends, let’s turn back the pages of history. Whenever a new technology was
introduced, it impacted the job market. When smartphones were introduced, the jobs of landline
telephone operators were taken over. When cars came, horse carriage drivers were almost finished.
ATMs took over cash tellers, and online websites took over booking clerks. What does this tell us? It
tells us that it is nature’s law that with the advent of new technology, some jobs will be wiped out.
Did people protest against these technologies as we are protesting against AI? Absolutely not. People
learned and improved their skills to thrive in this world.

In conclusion, the fear of AI taking over humans is largely unfounded and exaggerated. While AI has
indeed advanced rapidly and transformed various aspects of our lives, it remains a tool created and
controlled by humans. We have the power and responsibility to ensure that AI is developed and used
ethically and responsibly.

Let us, therefore, approach the integration of AI into our society with optimism, diligence, and a
commitment to shaping a future where both humans and AI thrive together in harmony. Thank you.
