Edition textbook.
- identify 4 more things in the park words picnic table, bench, swing, bin.

Warm up - Hello song
5 mins - Ask students to sing along the song.
- Remind the Class Rules.

Song: At the park song (track 70 in Tiếng Anh 2 Family and Friends National whole class
Edition)
Review
- Stick the things in the park words/ pictures around the class.
3 mins
- Ask students to point to the correct pictures/words when they are singing
along the song.

Lead in:
- Show students a picture of the story of Exercise 3 on page 47 - Lesson 1
and tell the story to students. whole class
Presentation
- Use transportation flashcards to introduce vocabulary: picnic table,
5 mins bench, swing, bin.
- Ask students to repeat in chorus.
- Students pass the flashcards and read the vocabulary individually.

Practice 1. Listen and point (track 41)


7 mins - Play the track 41, listen and be quiet. whole class
- Play again, ask students to listen and point to the picture.

2. Listen, point and repeat (track 42)
- Play again, ask students to listen and repeat in chorus.
- Ask students to repeat individually.
 Below level: Provide extra practice of the words by giving the flashcards
to individual children to hold up for the rest of the class to call out the
word. When all the words have been called out the children give their
cards to other members of the class.
 At level: What’s missing? individuals

- Display flashcards (things in the park) on the board.


- Point to each card one at a time for students to say the words.
- Give the class a few seconds to look at them.
- Ask students to turn around.
- Remove a card.
- Ask What’s missing?
- When students have identified the missing card, shuffle the cards again,
and repeat the procedure.
 Above level: Practice the game as described above but take away two
flashcards each time.

Development 3. Point and say. groups


10 mins - Point to each character and ask students to talk about things in the park.

- Ask students to listen and point to the correct things.
- Read aloud the sentences.

- Point to the eyes and ask Are these legs? No, they aren’t.
- Ask students to look at the things in the park (Exercise 1 page 48).

- Practice students’ pronunciation in chorally and individually.

10 mins
- Play the recording, ask students to listen to the chant.
- Put flashcards in different places around the room.
- Play the chant again and students point to the cards.
- Play the chant again, pause for students to repeat.

Development • Below level:


7 mins - Ask students to repeat the lines slowly, and several times.
- Divide the class into 4 groups. Each group has to chant one line.
- Play the chant again. Each group should stand up and sit down whole class
again when they hear their line.
• At level:
- Divide the class into groups: “Nn”, “Oo”. “Pp”, “Qq”, “Rr”, “Ss”,
“T” and “Uu”
- Play the chant again. Students stand up when they hear their
groups’ sounds/letters/words.
- Switch groups and repeat.

• Above level:
- Students do mimes for all letters and sounds.
- Students draw the letters in the air when they hear the sounds.
3. Connect and say.
- Say Let’s look at the pictures and letters. Connect and Say. whole class
- Do an example with the whole class with the first task.
- Say Now your turn! individuals
- Ask students to do the second one.
Pair work:
- Ask students to point to the letters and say them aloud. pairs

Hello song
5 mins - Ask students sing along the song the song.

- Tell students the rules of the game.
- Split everyone into groups. Each group makes a line.
- Ask one volunteer from each group comes up to the front.
- Secretly write down a letter on the piece of paper and show the letter to

the volunteers. The volunteers are not allowed to speak, say the letter, or

- Say “go”, the volunteer traces the letter on the back of their friend using
