Task 1.4. The chart and table below show the division of household tasks by gender in Great
Britain. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.
1. Most likely electronic household device companies, more specifically its marketing

Task 1.5. The graph below shows the average time spent by four car manufacturers to produce
vehicles at their US factories. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main
features, and make comparisons where relevant.
1. The people who make this graph is car manufacturers’s logistics department
2. to present to investors, to show them the performance of a company in producing cars
throughout the years to give them an idea on which one to invest
3. overall most of the car makers in the US produce cars with speed that fluctuate over the
years but generally is getting faster , with the exception of general motor which is rapidly
getting faster
4. the main features of the graph show that the production speed of car manufacturers
specifically Toyota and honda mainly became faster despite some fluctuations
throughout the period. Meanwhile, ford was initially becoming slower in 2001 but it
managed to catch up with its competition on the later years. On the other hand, general
motor was rapidly speeding up its production of cars throughout the period with only
minor periods for stablisation
5. the important features are both toyata and honda have the fastest car production speed
of all with ford and general motor coming in second and third respectively, moreover in
many points during the period Toyota and honda had the same production speed
Task 1.6. The graphs below show the percentage of men and women aged 60-64 who were
employed in four countries in 1970 and 2000. Summarize the information by selecting and
reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
1. the people who make this graph may be the logistics department of governments of the
countries or research groups
2. the purpose may be to determine the average retirement age of each country for the
research group and for the governments to investigate their workforce
3. overall the trend appears to be that throughout the period the proportion of the elderly
who are still In the workforce decrease at varying rates for both genders
4. the main features are that from 1970 to 2000 the male seniors who remain working
decrease at a much lower rate compared to their female counterparts, moreover, out of
the four countries Belgium has the biggest fall in terms of female elders still working
5. the important features are that the USA hold the highest percentage of old male workers
which carried on to the year 2000, the same thing can’t be said for its old female
workers. Furthermore Belgium has the highest rate of decrease for both genders out of
the other countries
Task 1.7.
The charts below show the performance of a bus company in terms of punctuality, both actual
and target (what actually happened compared to what the company was trying to achieve), and
the number of complaints from passengers. Summarize the information by selecting and
reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
1. the one who made this chart is the logistics department or the general secretary of the
company
2. to show to the investors the performance of the company
3. overall the trend is that the performance of the company fluctuates over the period with
the target performance of the company steadily reduced meanwhile the number of
complaints from customers rose
4. the main features are that the company performance initially dropped but then it managed
to recover and from then it continued to increase until it met its target performance in
2003. On the other hand, the number of complaints increases despite the improvements in
the company’s performance
5. the important features are that in 2003 despite having the best performance it still got the
most amount of complaints in the entire period, in the 2000s the drop in working quality
resulted in a considerable increase in complaints, 2003 is the only time the company met
its target performance
Task 1.8.
The charts below show the number of working hours per week, in the industrial sector, in four
European countries in 2002. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main
features and make comparisons where relevant.
1. the logistics department of the factories

3. overall the trend is that the workers in all of the countries prefer to work 34-40 hours
with the exception of French workers who like to work 31-33 hours
4. the main features are that half of the workforce of everyone except France prefer to
work 34-40 hours a week while French workers prefer to work 31-33 hours with a
significant amount wanting to work 34-40 hours a week. Aside from that most other
time preferences are minor not taking up even half of the total workforces
5. the important features are that Sweden has the highest percentage of workers working
34-40 hours a week, the UK has the hardest working people with 20% of their workforce
working 50+ hours a week

In the contemporary era of advanced technology, social media has become an indispensable aspect of our
existence. There are those who contend that it exerts an adverse influence on society, whereas others
maintain that it yields manifold advantages. This essay aims to elucidate my standpoint regarding the
degree to which I concur with the assertion that social media has a deleterious effe ct on society.
