    DTT3023 – Isu Etika dan Profesional (A231)

    Extended due date for Assignment 1 (Individual in Week 08 - Friday


    (26/05/2024) before 11.59pm

    INSTRUCTION:
    1. Upload Assignment 1 into your individual folders in MyGuru

    2. Make sure all your links and applications that you have set-up in Assignment 1 remain
    active for at least 1 week from Friday 26/05 so that I can evaluate your Assignment.

    3. Your main Assignment 1 report should be sent in PDF format, UNLESS it was stated to
    be in (.xls), pdf, gif/jpeg format, or video (MP4) formats.

    4. Answer ALL sections.

    5. The MyGuru link will be disable after the dateline ends. Make sure to upload your
    Assignment 1 before Friday 26/05, 5pm.

    Specific Assignment 1 Instruction:

    Assignment 1 will be assess based on two parts:


    i) How you can complete review of the mini assignment in a concise, details with a good
    reference.
    ii) How you are able to create a summarize presentation (either using talking-head, slides
    explanation, or any combination of creative ways – which use your own voice in explaining it)

     Assignment 1 consists of five (5) mini assignments


     You have to complete a small report or small task that may range from 2-5 pages long
    for each mini assignment
     You can support your answer with video, article, journal and cite it using APA 7th Edition
    in your report
     If you have answer some of the mini assignment before, then you can copy your answer
    in here
     Compiled all these 5 mini assignments in one large PDF file report
     Then produce an explanation video (presentation video) of that summarize each of the
    task that you have completed and your own opinion on it
     Duration of the video should be between 20-50 minutes long
    Topic 1: Computer Crime and Security

    Instruction: Answer the following question based on the diagram below with minimum 2-3
    pages ONLY. The topic is based on what you have been assigned:

    1. Provide a definition on the term you have been assigned


    2. Provide the source or link of an article/ website/ video/ TikTok/ Journal etc.

    Topic 2: Intellectual Property

    Instruction: Answer the following question with maximum 5 pages ONLY.

    Assume the role as the individual software developer or you are the owner of a
    software company. Your company have already created a software that change people life
    style and provides benefit to the society as a whole. Knowing the importance of this
    software to Malaysian, you decided to register your Intellectual Property (IP) to the software.
    Describe the process and steps involve in getting the right IP application for your software by
    following the suggested steps below.

    1. Go to Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) website -

    2. You could find the relevant IP for the software from the website.
    3. In your report, insert the relevant websites, online form etc. in your assignment.
    4. Clearly, explain each step involve in registering IP for your software.
    Topic 3: Privacy and Surveillance

    Instruction: Answer the following questions with maximum 5 pages ONLY. Put in Your
    Name/Nick Name/Student ID at the top left-hand corner of the page. Also, to put in your
    source of reference

    1. What is surveillance?
    2. What is types of surveillance?
    3. What are examples of surveillance?
    4. Can you monitor your employee computer activity? Give an example of how do they do
    that?
    5. Does the government spy on its citizens? Give an example of how do they do that?
    6. How is surveillance an ethical issue?
    7. What steps can you take to block or prevent from public / government surveillance?

    Topic 4: Computer Reliability

    Instruction: Write about 2-3 pages the answer for the following question below:

    1. Why reliability in computer system is important?


    2. Find a case study or example that resulted of computer is not reliable. (You can source it
    from Internet article, websites etc.)
    3. Give your opinion on the mobile phone reliability between the era of Nokia or Blackberry
    vs. the current time that uses Android or Apple mobile phone (You can describe it in term of
    hardware reliability and software reliability)

    Topic 5: Professional Ethics

    Instruction: Write about 2-3 pages the answer for the following question below:

    Describe the Professional Code of Ethics of a Software Engineer who developed the
    MySejahtera mobile app on the Eight Principles Identify Morally Responsible Relationships
    but based only on selected FOUR (4) Principles - Public, Client and Employer, Product and
    Judgment.
