Abbreviations
MR – magic ring;
st – stitch;
ch – chain;
sl st – slip stitch;
sc – single crochet;
inc – increase (crochet 2 stitches together in one stitch);
dec – decrease (crochet 2 stitches together);
BLO – back loops only;
(sc, inc) х n – repeat those in brackets n times.
Necessary materials
1. Semi-cotton yarn Alize Cotton Gold

- Hedgehog 1. Milk color #62, carbonic grey #87, beige #262, yellow #216, grey
#533;
- Hedgehog 2. beige #262, brown #493, red #56, green #126
- Hedgehog 3. beige #262, terracotta #36, red #56, green #485
You can change any color to a suitable color from Yarn Art Jeans
- To decorate the mittens we will need just a little yarn Alize Softy of white color

2. Crocheting hook 2 mm.
3. Stuffing (hollofayber).
4. Two black beads 6 mm in diameter.
5. Some black yarn to embroider the nose (I use Vita Coco, 240 m/50 g), and
pink for the cheeks.
7. A tapestry needle to sew the details and a thin needle to embroider the nose.

Size of the toy and notes
The height of the ready toy is approx. 9 cm.
All the details of the toy except the scarf are crocheted in a spiral.
Skill level is pre-intermediate. To crochet one hedgehog you’ll need approx. 4
hours.
Hedgehog in the brown coat
Body
Begin with the beige color.
Stuff in the course of crocheting.
1 rnd: 6 sc in MR (6)
2 rnd: 6 inc (12)
3 rnd: (1 sc, inc) х 6 (18)
4 rnd: (2 sc, inc) х 6 (24)
5 rnd: (3 sc, inc) х 6 (30)
6 rnd: (4 sc, inc) х 6 (36)
7 rnd: (5 sc, inc) х 6 (42)
8 rnd: (6 sc, inc) х 6 (48)
9 rnd: (7 sc, inc) х 6 (54)
Change the color to brown one
10 rnd: sl st in each st around (54)

11 rnd: insert the hook both in the back loops of the brown stitches and the braid
of the beige color – 1 sc in each st around (54)
Further crochet all next rows for the back loops only (BLO)
12-18 rnd: 7 rows – 1 sc in each st around (54)
19 rnd: (7 sc, dec) х 6 (48)
20 rnd: (6 sc, dec) х 6 (42)
21 rnd: (5 sc, dec) х 6 (36)
Start to stuff.
22 rnd: (4 sc, dec) х 6 (30)
23 rnd: (3 sc, dec) х 6 (24)
24 rnd: (2 sc, dec) х 6 (18)
25 rnd: (1 sc, dec) х 6 (12)
26 rnd: 6 dec (6)
Tighten the opening, hide the end of a thread inside the detail.
Coat
We will crochet the coat for the front loops. As we see these loops goes in a
spiral. Before starting crocheting I advise to lay a marker from the center of a
spiral to the border of the seam.
Attach a brown thread to the first loop of a spiral. Crochet 8 ch, crochet a sl st in
the same loop. Again crochet 8 ch and crochet a sl st in the next loop. Crochet
similarly one row.
Skip the next row, crochet a sl st in the nearby loop along a marker and begin
crocheting the 2nd row of the coat from this point. To check if everything is
correct, make sure that a stripe from the halfloops is seen between the rows.
Continue crocheting the coat, each time going for one row upper. The coat
consists of 9 rows. For two last rows crochet each time 7 ch. The last 9 row is
crocheted closely to the 8th one. Hide the end of a thread inside the detail.

Muzzle
Beige color
Crochet chain of 3 ch + extra 1 ch

1 rnd: beginning from the 2nd loop from the hook: 2 sc, 3 sc in the last loop of
the chain. Further crochet along the other side of the chain 1 sc, inc (8)
2 rnd: inc, 1 sc, 3 inc, 1 sc, 2 inc (14)
Leave a thread enough for sewing. Put the stuffing inside.
Legs (2 pcs)
Beige color
2 rnd: (1 sc, inc) х 3 (9)
3 rnd: 1 sc in each st around (9)
4 rnd: (1 sc, dec) х 3 (6)
Put some stuffing inside.
Fold in half and connect the edges crocheting 2 sc.
Leave a thread enough for sewing.
Arms (2 pcs)
Beige color.
Do not stuff.
Fold the arm in half and connect the edges with 2 sc.

EARS (2 pcs)
Beige color.
2 rnd: 7 sl st
Mittens
Red color.
4 rnd: 3 dc with one common top in one st, 8 sc (9)
5 rnd: inc, 8 sc (10)
Change the color to white.

Fasten off. If necessary shorten all ends of the
threads and hide them inside.
Scarf
Consist of two parts.
Left part: Crochet chain of 24 ch. Crochet 23 sc along the chain.
Right part: Crochet chain of 20 ch. Crochet 19 sc along the chain.

Assembly and decoration
1. Put the detail so that the place of changing the colors appeared to be at the
right in the bottom. Sew the muzzle for one row upper of the central point.
Sew the legs and pull them to the body with one stitch.
2. Sew the eyes. With the same thread embroider the nose with the rococo stitch
(10-12 turns round a needle.
3. Sew the ears, arms and scarf as it is shown at the photo below.

4. Embroider the brows and cheeks
