OHS – Safety Guidelines
10.1. Contractor
10.1.1 Should follow all safety instructions given by BIAL OHS representative/PM (s) e.g., Site Team / OHS team / our
Customer, Client etc. Should adhere to MOWP – Method of work plan which consist of instructions given by all
stake holders before commencement of any work.
10.1.2 The contractor shall provide Accident Prevention Tools (APT) e.g., Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., safety
helmet, safety shoes, full body safety harness, hand gloves, dust mask, goggles etc.), Fire Fighting Equipment (for
Crane, DG Set etc.), First Aid Boxes (for their workers) & deliver Safety training.
10.1.3 The Contractor shall conduct Safety Training Program i.e., Induction, Recurrent & Refresher as required. Further,
medical checkup i.e., Pre-Employment & Periodic to be conducted as per requirement.
10.1.4 The contractor shall ensure compliance to safety norms, environmental norms which includes controlling of oil
spillages, waste management’s, handling of hazardous waste, control of noise etc. Process should be as per
applicable statuary requirement or directed by the first party time to time as per the BOCW act and other acts
as deemed, according to the nature of work.
10.1.5 All hazardous activities to be supported with Risk Assessment in consultation with BIAL OHS department and risk
mitigation techniques to be followed as suggested.
10.1.6 Will be fully responsible for safe and secure transportation of material which includes loading and unloading.
10.1.7 Is responsible to manage all type of waste materials/ products of your company’s works as per the requirement
10.1.8 Contractor’s employees and their transporters shall follow the traffic rules.
10.1.9 All heavy vehicles to be parked only at designated place and should have wooden/metal
10.1.10 Ensure drivers do not sleep under parked vehicles; wear appropriate PPE at BIAL site
10.1.11 BIAL or its representatives are authorized to impose penalty to contractor which will be jointly decided as per
deviation and noncompliance towards MOWP/other conditions. Any major/ frequent deviations, accountability
shall be under contactor, this can also result in termination of contract as per criticality.
10.1.12 All electrical regulations to be adhered. No wires to be loosely connected or without plug top. Wires to be routed
properly on ground to avoid trip hazard.
10.1.13 Maintain Good housekeeping and regular cleaning of working area with proper hygienic condition.
10.1.14 Prepare & submit HIRA and other documents as requested by BIAL before start of the work.

Contractor shall ensure that following approved PPE shall be always available and used by its employees without exception
whatsoever at all construction site and units excluding office area or area demarked as non-PPE Zone.

Contractor shall arrange all above PPEs well in advance and maintain a record of distribution with proper acknowledgement.
Above PPE table including but not limited to all required PPE at BIAL works. Concerned BIAL OHS or other supervisory staff
can be contacted for guidance on all required PPEs for a particular/specific work. No loose clothing will be accepted / allowed
at construction sites or restricted working area.
PPE shall be confirming to ISI/DGMS/BIS/CE specifications and shall be comfortable to its employees, when used. In case Second
Party fails to provide the above minimum required PPE, Project Manager / Safety Officer of BIAL shall be entitled to provide
the same on cost recovery basis.
12- EMPLOYMENT OF EXPERIENCED / COMPETENT PERSONS - For all activities and operations, Second Party shall:
12.1 Employ only trained skilled, competent and medically fit persons. The persons holding valid license approved by the
relevant law enforcing/regulating agency should only perform following jobs:

22 Seamless Safety gloves / HT Rubber Hand For any panel work which is charged or in service.
Gloves for electricians.
23 Electrical panels Rubber mats in front of each panel.
24 Double Earthing for panels. All construction power panels and distribution boards.
25 Equipment guards. All grinding, drilling machines, all pulleys, gearboxes, and
drive belts to be covered with proper metal sheet work.
26 Vehicles Parking. To be parked outside the working areas unless specific
permission is taken.
27 Height Works. Medical examination of the workmen and supervisors
designated to work at heights shall be taken as directed.
28 Fire. Fire extinguishers and fire buckets as directed by BIAL ARFF team
tobe installed at site.
29 Cranes, Lifting tools and tackles. All cranes to have valid load test certificates, load charts,
licensed operators, and tested/certified lifting tools.

14 – Declaration
By signature of this document/Safety Guidelines, the Contractor confirms that it has read and understood all the above OHS rules
and processes applicable to BIAL and its Site for the execution of the Services. All the above conditions are acceptable to the
Contractor and the Contractor undertakes to abide, adhere, and comply to their staff/personnel and to any third party acting,
engaged, deployed on their behalf.
This Guidelines prevails over any other document signed upon the parties strictly for its subject matter, the OHS rules applicable
at the BIAL Site for the execution of the Services. All the other terms and conditions contained in the agreement signed by the
Contractor and BIAL for the execution of the Services considered by those OHS rules shall apply. BIAL Shall address
recommendations as per the site need which needs to be adhered. The contractor shall follow all recent regulatory acts and
rules which comes into force as per government release in the parliament and in state.
