Report: Creation of E-Commerce Website Using Woo Commerce

CHAPTER -1

i. Introduction:

The purpose of this report is to document the process and outcomes of creating an
e-commerce website using WooCommerce, an open-source e-commerce plugin
for WordPress. This report will cover the objectives, methodology, implementation,
features, and results of the project.

ii. Objectives:

The primary objectives of this project were to:

 Develop a fully functional e-commerce website.

 Utilize WooCommerce for its integration with WordPress and extensive


customization options.

 Ensure a user-friendly interface and seamless shopping experience.

 Implement robust product management, payment processing..

 Provide detailed reporting and analytics for business insights.

iii. Methodology:

The project was executed in several phases, including planning, design,


development, testing, and deployment. The following tools and technologies were
used:

i. WordPress: Content management system.

ii. WooCommerce: E-commerce plugin.

iii. Themes and Plugins: For design and extended functionalities.

iv. Payment Gateways: Integration of Mobile Banking and Pay on Delivery.

v. Hosting: Web hosting services for deployment.

CHAPTER -2

i. Implementation:

1. Planning and Design

 Market Research: Conducted to understand the target audience and


competitors.
 Wireframing: Created wireframes to outline the website structure and user
flow.
 Theme Selection: Chose a responsive and customizable WooCommerce-
compatible theme.

2. Development

 At first we registered the domain of our desired name from the website
https://register.com.np/ .The desired name should be unique and should not
be matched with already taken domain name. For registration we should have
Citizenship or any other identification legal documents.

 After registering the domain we should find a place for keeping our contents
of our website. And this place is called sever.

 During hosting our datas and contents of our website we integrate with our
website with Wordpress; a Content Management System which will give
features like Wo –Commerce ,Creating Carts ,Catalogs and Successfull
transaction easily and smoothly.

 WordPress Setup: Installed and configured WordPress on the chosen hosting


platform.

 WooCommerce Installation: Installed and activated the WooCommerce
plugin.
 Product Management: Added product categories, tags, and attributes,
Uploaded product images, descriptions, and prices.

 Payment : Configured payment gateways (Mobile Banking or


E-sewa/Khalti) and set up shipping method and rates.

 Customization: Customized the theme and extended functionality using


plugins.

ii. Testing:

 Usability Testing: Conducted to ensure the website is user-friendly and


intuitive.
 Functionality Testing: Verified that all features, including product search,
cart, checkout, and payment processing, work correctly.

CHAPTER-3
i. Features:

The e-commerce website includes the following key features:

a. Login: Secure user accounts for a personalized shopping experience.


b. Product Catalog: Well-organized product listings with detailed
descriptions and images.
c. Shopping Cart: Easy-to-use cart functionality allowing users to add,
remove, and update products.
d. Checkout Process: Streamlined checkout process with multiple
payment options.
e. Order Management: Efficient order tracking and management for both
users and administrators.

iii. Conclusion:
The creation of the e-commerce website using WooCommerce
successfully met the project objectives. WooCommerce’s robust features
and seamless integration with Wordpress proved to be an effective
solution for developing a versatile and scalable online store. Future
improvements could include further customization, enhanced marketing
strategies , and continuous performance optimization.
