1 Introduction
2 Product Overview
The built-in Battery Management System (BMS) monitors and controls the
battery functions to ensure that the battery unit operates in a safe, reliable,
and efficient way.
• Cell voltage
The BMS also controls solid state relays to protect the system from over-
charging, over-discharging, over-current, over-temperature, and other fault
operations.

Mounting screws, 4 × M6, are not included in the accessory kit and must be
ordered separately.
• ETSI EN 300 019-1-3 Class 3.1 except for the main unit operation
temperature.
For information about the operating environment for the equipment, refer to
the Description documents of the respective products.
To protect the safety and life of the battery unit, the BMS monitors the state of
discharging in real time. When the continuous discharging current exceeds the
maximum value, the BMS automatically disconnects the discharging circuit.
3.7 Performance
3.8 Capacity
The capacity varies slightly at temperatures between −20°C and +60°C, with
+25°C as the standard temperature.
3.9 Lifetime
The battery unit is designed to last for a minimum of 15 years, in standby
operation at +25ºC, with 60% of the nominal capacity remaining after 15
years. When the battery unit capacity is degraded to 30 Ah at the end of its
lifetime, it can still be used but at lower performance. The battery unit lifetime
at different temperatures is shown in Table 8.

The Battery Faulty/Replace alarm is activated when the battery unit has
reached beyond EOL in capacity or is faulty.
The Battery Faulty/Replace relay is Normally Closed (NC), that is, the alarm is
activated as the relay opens.

There are seven switches corresponding to binary code. The switch numbers,
1–7, are designed from high bit to low bit, in sequence.
The battery address corresponds to the position of the installed battery units,
where the bottom one is the first one.
Steps

The bracket can be positioned on different distances from the front panel. The
bracket position is chosen according to the depth of applicable enclosure or
rack.
6 Cable Connections
This section gives an overview of the cabling in a battery unit system. For

Note: The DC power cables for the battery unit can be divided between
several connection points in the power system. It is different for the
communication cable and the alarm cable, they interconnect all
battery units daisy chained in a multiple battery unit configuration.

8 Maintenance
If the battery unit is stored for a longer period of time, it must be charged
regularly to 30% SOC.
Before cleaning the battery unit, the power must be switched off and the
battery unit must be in power-off state. Do not rinse the battery unit with water.
To clean the battery unit, use a dry cloth, vacuum cleaning, or compressed air.
This section describes the transportation and storage aspects of the battery
unit. For detailed information regarding transportation and storage of Li-ion
batteries, refer to Battery Guidelines.
Keep the battery unit away from water and condensation. Liquid entering the
battery unit can cause short circuits, electricity leakage, and connector
corrosion. Moist air entering the battery unit must be avoided. If the battery
unit is exposed to water or condensation, it must be considered faulty and is
not to be used.
• The battery unit is shipped from the supplier not more charged than 30%
SOC.
• CE
• IEC 60950
• IEC 62 619
• UN38.3
10.2 EMC
The battery unit complies with the following EMC requirements:
• EQ zone 4
