Dear Alumni,
Er. Sakal Jain
Greetings!
The frequency of Sakserians making headlines has suddenly shot up. They can be seen
everywhere; in leading newspapers, on TV channels, and on social media. Engineers from
SGSITS are making their mark in every field that can be thought of. Our parents, teachers,
schools and colleges take immense pride from our accomplishments. When we receive awards
or accolades, on the stage, with a huge round of applause, shutterbugs clicking, at that very
moment, with wet eyes, we travel in a flashback. We travel in our childhood, our school, we
remember the pain our parents took in raising and educating us, friends who have been with us,
our teachers and classrooms and corridors of our alma mater.
We are what we got from our family, society and our alma mater. A lot of efforts and resources
of our institutes have gone into crafting our personality, career and achievements at large.
Hence, it becomes our moral responsibility to give back . . . and give back with an open heart
and help toward research, scholarships, building infrastructure (lab improvement, hostel, library,
computer center renovation), adding new facilities and supporting needy students by paying for
their fees, books, etc. It helps increase the stature of the college, creates an environment to
learn, innovate and grow.
‘Giving Back’ Doesn’t Always Mean Money
Giving back most of the time is understood as giving money; we should not forget that our time
is equally important. Human capital is many a time more valuable than the financial. We can
contribute by sharing experience/knowledge, mentoring students, providing Internships to
students, creating job opportunities for students, guiding students in their projects, hand-
holding in the journey of their start-ups etc.
When we give back to our college, a sense of deep contentment creeps in knowing that we’re
furthering the bigger cause of the institution that did so much to educate us and give us a better
life.
We all want to make the world a better place, by sharing our time, talent and money with our
college, we do our bit of good and contribute by building our future generation.

Down the Memory Lane
The year was 1983 and the name Chitragupt Bhatnagar. Against the
established tradition, a third-year student at SGSITS (it was a five-year
degree course then) was elected the Vice President of the SGSITS Student
Union and went on to create history by becoming the only Sekserian to have
ever become the President of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Student Union. It
was undoubtedly the biggest victory procession by the Sekserians in the city
of Indore.
From the days of being an Iconic Firebrand Student Leader Er. Chitragupt
Bhatnagar has gone on to become a much Respected Dynamic Professional
and is currently the Managing Director of a German Multinational and is one
of the most Popular Sekserian around the Globe.
