H——Health OHSAS18001
OHSMS
S——Safety
The EHS management system is the integration of the following two
management systems:
1. Environmental Management System (EMS): The international standard and
specification of the existing EMS is the ISO14001: 2004.
2. Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS): The universal
reference standard of the existing OHSMS is Occupational Health and Safety
Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001: 2007. The OHSAS is not the international
standard currently.

electrical professionals.
⚫ The construction must be performed in strict accordance with the design
documents and supervised by the supervision personnel.
⚫ Before construction, all switches must be open, and provided with warning
signs such as "NO SWITCHING ON" and protection and isolation measures.
The accesses and doors to the site are required to erect warning signs. The
site must be monitored by specially assigned personnel.
⚫ The communication power supply equipment at the owner side must be
operated in strict accordance with the contract engineering interface. High voltage
⚫ The owner's power supply cannot be used without the owner's approval on
the electrical application.
⚫ The energized equipment must be connected to the specified position of the
power supply (distribution) equipment in strict accordance with the design
documents or the owner's power supply planning.
⚫ Before energizing the equipment, the personnel must check the system
power supply connection for compliance with safety requirements by using
measuring instruments.

work requirements.
 Do not climb the equipment if there is a power cable nearby.
 Work only in the daytime if there is a HV power cable near the work area.
 Work with a company in an area with work restrictions.
 Place appropriate barricades.
 If someone operates on a live line, others cannot directly touch his body, tools,
or equipment, and must maintain a safe distance with him.
⚫ If someone who works on live equipment has an electric shock:
 Before cutting off the power, the first aider cannot attempt to rescue, and must
maintain a sufficient safe distance.
 Immediately make an emergency call for help.
 If there is a fire or other risks, the threatened personnel must jump at least 9 m

Firefighting Decision Criteria
• Know department emergency procedures and evacuation routes
• Know locations of extinguishers in your area and how to use them
• Always sound the alarm regardless of fire size
• Avoid smoky conditions
• Ensure area is evacuated
• Don’t attempt to fight unless:
• Alarm is sounded
• Fire is small and contained
• You have safe egress route (can be reached without exposure to
fire)
• Available extinguishers are rated for size and type of fire
• If in doubt, evacuate!

“DON’T ATTEMPT TO FIGHT UNLESS YOU ARE TRAINED”
