Evaluation of Project Outcome in Achieving Projects Aim:

After our final visit to a local government school and the slums, I can confidently say that we
were able to achieve our project aim as our pre campaign study revealed that a significant
number of women were hesitant to take care of their menstrual wellbeing transparently but our
campaign among more than 350 girls caused a fewer women to feel uneasy and are now more
focused on using sterile items for maintaining good menstrual hygiene.

Our primary aim was to help people understand that menstrual health is not only as crucial as any
other health factor but also a basic and fundamental human right and shouldn’t be neglected due
to lack of resources as a result poverty. To achieve this aim, social media stages like Instagram
were utilized by us to promote our activity and mindfulness campaigns. The successful
completion of our project was due to the funds (12000 PKR) we raised from LGS Punjab and
LGS Awaisia, which led to a substantial amount of money being saved, ultimately providing
sanitarian items among the poor. 4000 PKR were allocated for our slums visit while the rest were
donated to waduha welfare organization.

However, our journey had some loop holes, our brochures and posters were written entirely in
English, which was not easily understood by our illiterate target audience. Also we were unable
to work with The citizen’s foundation (which could’ve helped us create a wider impact and reach
more audience) due to failed alignment of our schedules.

Evaluation of Project Processes:

We made two separate whatsapp groups –one was for our rough arranging whereas the other
was utilized for final announcements and decisions. We collaborated amidst our lunch breaks or
free lessons in school which turned out to be the foremost successful collaboration strategy.
Fewer gatherings were organized exterior school due to parental concerns or health issues which
made delays and gaps but we overcame this issue by organizing online meetings or whatsapp
group calls. However these meetings were time limited and were bound to bad internet
connectivity. In future we should guide parents regarding the importance of group project to
ensure more in-person meetings

Assignment distribution by the focal individual was successful as they were relegated based on
expertise. One of the video recordings of Dr Maria’s interview was also lost due to technical
issues, in the future we can arrange to carry a spare card to counter such challenges. Gathering
international perspective was a very challenging task due lack of information about international
doctors and differences in time zones but finally an interview was managed with Dr Rida Zafar.

Evaluation of individual performance:

I took the initiative as or team’s graphic designer and spent ample time in coming up with
attractive designs for our brochure, posters, and flexes, and logo. Not only this but I also wrote
most the content for our social media posts, though this was a burdening task as conducting
research for content along with making sure that the designs were submitted to my members on
time was overwhelming. However for more improvement we could collaborate more by dividing
the responsibilities equally to each member.

I also carried out the task of making calls or writing emails to doctors for collaboration and was
present at all meetings and interviews except for one. Furthermore, during the seminars, I
delegated the task of distributing surveys and brochures because I lacked confidence in public
speaking. However, as our journey progressed, my growth became evident. By the end of our
project, I confidently conducted interviews with a few locals in slums.

I also tried to help the other members as much as possible, for example I collaborated on the
subtitles for our interviews. Despite being time consuming, I was able to identify the bugs with
the help of my teammates. In addition, I also helped with the recording of interviews and
photography. I also collaborated effectively in preparing interview questions and shouldered the
responsibility for locating the local nearby slums for distribution of sanitary products and made
the financial transaction to waduha organization

Benefits and Challenges of Working as a Team:

Cooperation is the most significant part if team work and a single mistake by one of the member
could change the course of our plan. Our major imperfection included our inability to manage
time efficiently and lack of planning for our budgets. Moreover several interviews were delayed
and rescheduled due to lack of parental consent and travel issues. In future we could assess our
time and prioritize our to-do list and pre plan our finance.

While it had it challenges, teamwork proved to be beneficial as I learned patience when

interacting with people who had different opinions, which helped me to think critically and
consider different perspectives. It also developed a sense of responsibility, and by the time the
project was over, I had gained better time management abilities.

Cultural Perspectives and Personal Learning:

Throughout the project I realized that very few cultural perspective take menstrual health and
hygiene seriously. I was unaware of the severity of this issue until we visited slums where there
was no sign of hygiene and some women refused to use any sanitary products as it was
considered a ‘sin’ according to their religion. Moreover the men in our society refused to give
any perspective on this issue as they felt embarrassed in addressing this topic. Through our
Google forms and surveys of local communities, we realized that many people never even visited
a doctor. Moreover I learned a lot from our local and national interviews with Dr.Maria,
Dr.Nausheen Tauseef and also Dr Umm e Habiba from Avicenna medical college as they shed
light on the diseases that unhygienic menstrual practices could lead to.

Overall, I consider this project to be a success in raising awareness, looking to the future; I
envision the possibility of transforming our group into a Non-Governmental Organization
dedicated to solving menstrual health and hygiene issues in our community.
