About my students: Students in my Access group are 24 at the age of 14-15. Their English level is A2-B1. In this lesson students
will practice “Great Inventions?” topic from textbook with new and modern vocabulary, reading, listening and speaking
aspects with game based learning and other activities.
Why they learn English: I think my students want to learn English because it opens many opportunities for them as it is an
international language. It is the language of educational, technological, and business opportunities and perspectives.
What do I anticipate from my students? In this lesson, I anticipate students will be challenged by: The topic of the lesson is “Why do we
use this for”, which is about inventions, gadgets, and devices that became parts of our lives. The main goal of the lesson is to learn new
vocabulary based on the topic, to use infinitive or gerund for uses and purposes, interact and collaborate in groups.
Needed materials: A device /laptop, computer, tablet, or phone/, a stable Wi-Fi, Zoom application.
Students will be working in groups or pairs in breakout rooms, will watch the video-lessons and video-activities made by the teacher for this

What do I do for challenging my students? To address these challenges, I plan to have my students watch videos, work in pairs
and groups, play games.
Assessment: I will assess my students for participation in all activities; grammar, vocabulary, listening, and speaking activities,
reflecting, analyzing, and discussing the main idea, the accuracy and fluency for their answers, for active listening, for tolerance and
respect for the rules in our classroom multi-culture and for their peers.
Objective(s): By the end of the lesson students will be able to ask and answer questions, express their opinions, thoughts, agreements,
disagreements about the topic using infinitive or gerund for uses and purposes and new words from the topic.
