Circuit: The Fundamental Pathway of Electricity

A circuit, in its simplest form, is a closed loop that allows the controlled flow of electricity.

Essential Components

1. Path: This is the conductive pathway for the electrons to flow. It’s typically made of metal wires
like (mostly copper wires)

2. Source: This is the energy provider that pushes the electrons through the circuit. Common
sources include batteries, generators, and power outlets. They create a voltage difference that
cause the current to flow.

3. Load/Sink: This is the component that utilizes the electrical energy. It could be a light bulb, a
motor, a computer chip, or any device that converts electrical energy into another form, like
light, heat, or motion. According to the laws of the thermodynamics the if there is a source then
there must be a sink/load.
