ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

ON THE CONDUCT OF THE
NATIONWIDE SYNCHRONIZED STORY READING TIME

November 26, 2021

RATIONALE According to Walt Disney, “There is more treasure in books than in all
the pirate’s loot on Treasure Island.”

Reading stories in books and other reading materials benefits both

physical and mental health, and those benefits can last a lifetime. They begin in
early childhood and continue through the senior years (Benefits of Reading Books: For
Your Physical and Mental Health, 2021).

Reading has been proven to keep our minds young, healthy, and sharp.
It develops the imagination and allows us to dream and think in ways that
would have never been able to before. (The Importance of Reading, 2021)

Reading improves memory and cognitive ability, which means it’s a

healthy habit that can help kids in and outside the classroom. Along with that
improved brain power comes an improved vocabulary. “Reading to your child is
a wonderful way to build your child’s language, social and emotions skill,”
advises Dr. Grimm.

In line with thses perceptions, the Department of Education spearheaded

the nationwide celebration of the 2021 Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa
(PBAP) in consonance with DepEd Memorandum DMCI-2021-00466, s. 2021
with the theme “Bawat Bata Bumabasa sa Kabila ng Hamon ng Pandemya”.

In compliance with Regional Memorandum No. 659, s. 2021 and Division

Memorandum No. 700, s. 2021, Tugop Elementary School joined the
