BLESSING OF 2 ADDITIONAL CLASSROOM

To cater the growing and increasing the number of students in the


Junior High School Department and to have comfortable and conducive
learning of the students, the 2 new classroom above the stage was blessed
after the mass by Rev. Fr. Garry Neil Fuentebella, LRMS, School Director
together with Fr. Johny Molina, LRMS,School Finance Officer, Fr. Clarence,
Parish Priest at Mary Immaculate Church Dr. Profetiza S. Lim, School
Principal, Mr. Alex O. Sy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and some
members of the BOT, Mr. Edward Sung, Engr. Gregorio Uymatiao Sr., and
Engr. Gilbert Uymatiao held on July 15, 2020.
It was one of the highlights of simple celebration on 92nd Founders’
Day of Holy Cross High School with its theme HCHS: Strengthened by faith,
sustained by resilience, and driven by commitment. PTA Officers headed by
Mrs. Verda A. Kho and some invited guests were also gracing the celebration.
After the blessing, heavy buffet snacks followed, sponsored by the HCHS-PTA.
HCHS TEACHERS ATTEND TRAINING ABOUT MICROSOFT OFFICE 365

Today and the days ahead, the most challenging part of being a teacher is to face
the new normal due to pandemic by adopting distant learning which include different
modalities in teaching. One of this is to use the Microsoft office 365.
The Microsoft Education Ambassador Phils., Mr. Donald B. Dungog and his
training team conducted a webinar entitled, ‘’ How to Prepare your Virtual
Classroom?’’ on July 22- 24, 2020 via Microsoft Teams. He said that the training aims to
demonstrate the features of Microsoft Office 365 with its engaging list of tools and
applications educators can use to prepare their Virtual Classroom. Furthermore, he also
said that the training participants were asked to use a laptop connected online with an
internet download speed of not less than 2Mbps.

July 21, 2020 from 2:00pm-4:00pm, Registration, Introduction of Program


Mechanics, Installation of needed Software and Applications, Training needs Analysis,
and Setting up of Expectations were given during Pre- Webinar Orientation. Mrs. Lovelie
Mae D. Camay was assigned to lead the prayer, Rev. Fr. Garry Neil Fuentebella, LRMS,
and Dr. Profetiza S. Lim gave their warm welcome messages.

Day 1, July 22, 2020, the first topic was about ‘’ Transforming our Classroom
through Microsoft Teams’’ by Mr. Donald B. Dungog, Microsoft Education Ambassador
Phils. He shared his expertise in a new way to Communicate, Collaboration, Create a
Team, Create a Channel, Team Meetings, Voice Call, Video Call, Adding Apps in
Microsoft Teams, Creating Assignments and Rubrics. It started from 9:00am and finished
passed 12:00 noon. Teachers processed their outputs and submitted online. From 1:00
pm to 2:30 pm, another topic was shared by Mr. Glenny Laping, Microsoft Innovative
Educator Expert, Phils. His topic was ‘’Creating A Back -Up Using One Drive for
Business’’. He talked about the User Interface, Uploading Files, Syncing to PC, Delete
and Restore, and Sharing Folders and Files. From 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Dr. Rubilyn
Pastrano, Microsoft Education Ambassador Phils., introduced to us the Smart Lookup,
Citations, and Recover Unsaved Documents.

Day 2, July 23, 2020 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, ‘’ New Way of Writing Using
OneNote’’ was shared to us by Dr. Rubilyn Pastrano, Microsft Education Ambassador
Phils. She talked about the Review on Notebook, Sections, and Pages, One Note Class
Notebook, Collaboration Space, Content Library, Individual Space, and Managing
Notebooks. From 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, teachers processed their outputs and
submitted online. From 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm, ‘’ New Way of Assessment Through
Microsoft Forms’’ by Mr. Guendolyn Templado, Microsoft Innovative Educator Phils. He
shared to us the User Interface, Types of Forms (Quiz and Forms), Types of Questions
(Text, Choice, Likert), and How to Share the Forms. From 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, another
feature was shared to us about ‘’Organize and Analyze Data Through Microsoft Excel’’
by Mr. Fritz Marata, Microsoft Innovative Educator Phils. Conditional Formatting, Pivot
Tables, Pivot Charts, and Slicers were taught to us. It was productive, challenging,
innovative, useful, and informative on that day.

Day 3, July 24, 2020, Ms. Judelyn Dugan, Microsoft Innovative Educator Phils.,
shared to us about ‘’ Microsoft Outlook’’. She taught to us about User Interface, Send,
Respond, Forward Email using Outlook, Attachments and Attached Reminders, Email
Signatures, Adding Calendars, Viewing Calendars from the Directory, Sending Calendar
Invites, and Elevating Meetings Teams from 9:00 am-10:30 am. At exactly 10:30 am –
11:30 am, ‘’Microsoft Planner’’ was introduced to us with the User Interface, Creating
Task, Assigning Task, Automatic Replies, and Responding to Invites. There were
walkthrough, demo, and passing of the outputs made by the teachers. In the afternoon,
from 1:00 pm- 2:30 pm, Mr. Kent Seacop, Microsoft Innovative Educator Phils., shared
to us about’’ Best Practices Using Microsoft PowerPoint’’. He taught us about Quick
Starter, Design Ideas (Office 365), Morph Transition, 3D Models, and Organizing Slides
Using Section. Redeeming of Microsoft Badges and Evaluation through mentimeter were
conducted. To end the 3 Day Training, Closing Program was given. Mr. Donald B.
Dungog gave us inspiring messages to ponder on.

Each participants received a Microsoft Badge and Microsoft International


Certificates for each topic mastered.
