Whether or Not We Are Aware of It, Over Recent Years Artificial Intelligence (AI) Has Become An Integral Part of Our Lives
The term Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the first time introduced by John McCarthy of
Massachusetts institute of technology (MIT), USA. In 1950’s.
Whether or not we are aware of it, over recent years Artificial Intelligence (AI)
has become an integral part of our lives In the era of digital revolution has drastically
changed the life of human being and how people live, work, and communicate with each other.
This is the beginning of this technology which creates two way traffic for us. AI is the ability of
machine to display human-like capabilities; reasoning, learning, planning and creativity
designed by human for their own assistance and to perform the assigned tasks in smooth
manner. The growth of AI results from advances in processing, storage, and communication
technologies. By this technological advancement human fears that machines can control all
the job markets. Indeed, AI created by human and its intelligence will always be superior to AI
because human brain has no constraints.
Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) based on machine learning specializes in one area and
solve single problem at a time
whereas, in Artificial general intelligence it’s a theoretical concept that its behaves like
human cognitive behavior language processing, image processing ,computational
functioning and reasoning in last, if we able to gain
artificial super intelligence type it will surpass all human capabilities in rational
decision making ,in nanoseconds.
In search engines like Google’s predictive search algorithm used past user data to predict what a user
would type next in the search bar, Netflix uses past user data to recommend what movie a user
might want to see next. By using a complex algorithms it gives us a better solutions and results.
There is a fine line between destruction and advancement depend on the use of anything .AI is a
buzzword for a while now, it’s not going anywhere soon according to international data corporation
(IDC) has been spent 97.7 billion dollars in AI projects.it means across different industries related to
it improve themselves and to unlock more opportunities. However, the increasing adaptation of AI
also pose some challenges that must be addressed.
Opportunities:
1. Enhanced Automation
AI is a modern driving force in work places taking it to next level these machine can learn
and enable to do tasks in more efficient way then the traditional machines. For instance,
robot with AI capabilities can perform complex manufacturing, logistic and quality control,
improves the quality of product and services in an efficient manner.
2. Personalized Services
In today’s modern online shopping what we need, AI is using the past search data
recommend us a good product .one of the most unique feature that’s look deep insight in our
brain interpret for what we are looking gives us possible options.
3.Improved Healthcare
Among different advancement in technologies one of the advanced version we can see now
a days in health sector.it improves our life standards from drug discoveries to modern
robotic surgeries-backed by AI.Life expectancies has been increased many folds in
developed nation by the blessing of this technology.
4. Smarter Transportation
AI transforming vehicle industries safe efficient and friendly Self-driving cars powered
by AI technology can reduce accidents caused by human error and improve traffic flow.
Moreover, AI-enabled systems can optimize logistics operations, reduce fuel
consumption, and cut costs. Specially, electrically charged car reduce carbon emission .
5. Ai In Education
AI in education will change human of all age learning.AI uses of machine learning ,natural
language processing converting digital textbook, detect plagiarism and detect the emotions of
students .
6. In Media Industry
Many AI writing tools but the entry of chatGPT revolutionized this area in swift manner .it
can give answer of our question within due time .As, it is in initial phase it might be possible
that some answers that are being given us not accurate and relevant .
Common Challenges in AI
1. Computing Power
The AI and all its related programing is computer based consuming much more electricity
than ordinary machines. Secondly, the chips using in variety of computing devices are very
expensive not affordable for developing nations
2. Trust deficit
One of the most important factors that are a cause of worry for the AI is the unknown nature
of how deep learning models predict the output.in some studies it had found that certain input
commands not giving proper output .on the other hands, in last one decade the issue has been
tackling to err this.
The first ultraintelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever
make."
"Machine learning is the study of algorithms that learn from data and make
predictions."
Jeff Heaton's book provides a practical introduction to AI, covering topics such
as neural networks, genetic algorithms, and machine learning.
"AI will be either the best or worst thing ever for humanity."
Potential risk/challenges
1. Jobs losses
2. Potential bias
3. An AI arms race where “just as nations have raced to develop nuclear weapons, there is a
risk that countries will engage in an AI arms race, seeking to gain a strategic advantage
over their rivals [which] could lead to an escalation of tensions and potentially, armed
conflict.”
4. Lack of common standard
5. Ethical concern
6. Technical difficulties
7. Unclear goal
8. Regulation of AI
In 2016, Oxford and Google DeepMind scientists developed a deep neural network
that reads people’s lips with 93% accuracy (compared to just 52% scored by humans).
And now there’s evidence that machine learning models can accurately detect COVID-19
in asymptomatic patients based on a cellphone-recorded cough!
The AI Race
The United States and China remain at the forefront of AI investment, with the former
leading overall since 2013 with nearly $250 billion invested in 4,643 companies
cumulatively.
Stanford’s Artificial Intelligence Report 2023 estimated that global AI private investment in AI reached
$91.9 billion in 2022, yet this is just the tip of the iceberg. Goldman Sachs forecasts that global AI
investment will reach $110.2 billion in 2023 and grow to $158.4 billion in 2025.
Conclusion
In nut shell AI moderninzing in all domains .But human risk is this will it replace human in job
market .what will be the possible outcome if it has been done. No doubt, it assisted us in many
ways to improve our living standards .it should be use in control manner for the betterment o
society.
