SupportAssist deprecation
CloudIQ Collector has replaced the SupportAssist method of onboarding and collecting data for PowerSwitch systems starting
April 17, 2023. Dell Technologies recommends the CloudIQ Collector as the preferred method of onboarding PowerSwitch
systems to CloudIQ.
CloudIQ Collector is supported on PowerSwitch systems running 10.5.3.0 or later. Dell Technologies has ended providing support
for defect and security remediation in SupportAssist since August 2023. Customers are advised to migrate to CloudIQ Collector
as soon as possible.
OS10 boot up
● The admin user will only be available approximately 180 seconds (or >3 minutes) after boot, as this user is created only once
the OS10 configuration is fully loaded. If not disabled, the system user linuxadmin can log in to a switch, completing its
reboot process.
● If you configure syslog using the FQDN, the FQDN to IP address translation only occurs at the time of configuration or
switch reload, not on a regular basis based on DNS timers.
OS10 upgrades
● If you see the below issue for any of the user accounts, you should delete the SNMP user configurations before upgrading to
10.5.6.3 or later and then reconfigure the SNMP user accounts after the upgrade.
○ When a user is assigned to two groups, snmpwalk returns the error "Unknown user name" after a reload.
● When upgrading from 10.5.0 to 10.5.2 or later, the upgrade goes through the ONIE install process and displays an ONIE
update log. This does not indicate an upgrade failure. Do not interrupt the upgrade process as it proceeds automatically.
● Upgrading OS10 nodes in SmartFabric mode from Release 10.5.3.1 or earlier to Release 10.5.3.2 or later:
NOTE: The following procedure is not applicable if the OS10 switch is already running Release 10.5.3.2 or later software,
or if the switch is in Full Switch mode. Use the show switch-operating-mode command to check the switch
mode.
2
Before you upgrade the fabric, you must run the following curl command on each of the leaf nodes in the deployment. Run
this command on the leaf nodes one after another continuously. You can run this command in any one of the following ways:
○ Run this command from a remote server using the leaf node's management IP address if the node is reachable:
○ You can also use any API tool such as Postman on the leaf nodes.
NOTE:
Without running the curl command on the leaf nodes, if you upgrade from Release 10.5.3.1 or earlier to Release
10.5.3.2 or later, traffic loss for about 5 to 7 minutes is observed.
3
PSU
● If the PSU fan is inactive for more than 15 seconds, the PSU goes into a latched shutdown state and remain in the same
state until the AC power cable is removed and reinserted.
AR-44105 10.5.6.2 The HW Watchdog service is not running by default in the system.
AR-44053 10.5.6.2 With DOM enabled, false RX and TX alerts may occur for 1G and 10G
optics. The DOM alerts might not clear when the fault-condition is
cleared.
AR-44107 10.5.6.2 When enabling feature fip-snooping, an error "Policy table
init failed" is displayed.
NOTE: This issue is only seen on the S5232F-ON switches.
AR-44129 10.5.6.2 The OS10 software is configuring the system's LED control register
to blink at 1Hz with amber and green, even though the device is
stable and there are no alarms present.
NOTE: This issue is only seen on the Z9332F-ON switches.
AR-44130 10.5.6.2 When setting up a Layer 2 uplink, new Media Type options are
listed as Ethernet and Ethernet - No Spanning Tree. The lack
of additional information for these options leads to uncertainty in
understanding when to use each option.
AR-43685 10.5.6.1 The OID value for BGPPeerAdminStatus is displaying an incorrect
value, indicating "halted" even when the BGP peer is established,
instead of showing "running" as expected.
AR-43465 10.5.6.1 After upgrading N3248TE-ON switch from any version to 10.5.5.5
or 10.5.6.0 the ethernet ports 1/1/53-1/1/54 are not seen in the
interface list.
NOTE: This only happens during upgrade with a non-default
startup-configuration.
AR-43872 10.5.6.1 Link flap occurs when the interface, configured with a non-default
MTU, is also set up as part of a VLT configuration.
NOTE: This issue is only seen on the Z9432F-ON switches.
AR-43865 10.5.6.1 Unable to remove snmp trap configuration using the no snmp-
server enable traps config command.
AR-43841 10.5.6.1 Ansible is unable to parse certain keywords from the output.

with 64 tunnels and more than eight ECMP paths per group in
overlay and underlay, it leads to a crash.
NOTE: This issue is only seen on the S52xx series switches.

the switch, a false positive alarm message
"EQM_MEDIA_VOLTAGE_HIGH_WARNING" is displayed.

leads to high CPU usage.
AR-43709 10.5.6.1 When a user connects the 400G optics to port 9 of switch, the link
will not come up due to a TxFIR setting issue.
NOTE: This issue is only seen on the Z9664F-ON switches.
