CORE SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: "Trends, Networks, and Critical Thinking in the 21st Century" is a dynamic course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge
necessary to navigate and critically engage with the rapidly evolving trends, networks, and information landscape of the modern world. Through interdisciplinary exploration and critical
inquiry, students analyze societal, technological, and cultural trends, examine the role of networks in shaping communication and collaboration, and develop essential critical thinking skills
to evaluate information and make informed decisions in a global context.
CULMINATING PERFORMANCE STANDARD: Students will demonstrate the ability to analyze and synthesize complex information from various sources, critically
evaluate trends and networks in contemporary society, and propose innovative solutions to real-world challenges informed by evidence-based reasoning and critical thinking.
PERFORMANCE TASK: Trends and Networks Analysis Project
In this performance task, students will work collaboratively to investigate and analyze a current trend or issue and its impact within a specific network or community of their choice. Using
critical thinking skills and interdisciplinary perspectives, students will conduct research, gather data, and evaluate the implications of the trend or issue on various stakeholders within the
network. Finally, students will propose creative and actionable solutions to address challenges or leverage opportunities associated with the trend or issue.
