In this session, we will explore the
functionalities of the Home tab in
Microsoft Word.

The main goal of this class is to


familiarize ourselves with the
Home tab and its various
features.

In this class, we will delve into the


basics of the Find and Replace
function in Microsoft Word.
Home The Home tab in Microsoft Word is one of the most frequently

used tabs, as it contains essential tools for formatting and
editing text.
Home It includes several groups, each containing related commands

1.Clipboard Group
Cut (Ctrl + X): Removes the selected text or object and places it on the
clipboard.

Copy (Ctrl + C): Copies the selected text or object to the clipboard.

Paste (Ctrl + V): Inserts the content from the clipboard at the current cursor
position.

Format Painter: Copies formatting from one part of the document to another.

2. Font Group
Font Type: Change the font style (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman).
Font Size: Adjust the size of the text.
Bold (Ctrl + B): Make the text bold.
Italic (Ctrl + I): Italicize the text.
Underline (Ctrl + U): Underline the text.
Strikethrough: Draw a line through the middle of the text. ·
Subscript and Superscript: Position text slightly below (subscript) or above
(superscript) the normal line of text. ·
Text Effects and Typography: Apply text effects such as shadow, glow, and
outline.
Text Highlight Colour: Highlight the selected text.
Font Colour: Change the colour of the text.
Clear Formatting: Remove all formatting from the selected text, returning it
to the default style.

numbering.

Alignment: Align text to the left, centre, right, or justify (distribute text evenly
between the margins).
Line and Paragraph Spacing: Adjust the spacing between lines of text and
between paragraphs.

Shading: Apply background colour to the selected text or paragraph.

Styles Gallery: Apply pre-defined styles to text for consistent formatting
(e.g., headings, titles).

Manage Styles: Create, modify, or delete styles.


5. Editing Group

Find (Ctrl + F): Search for specific text within the document.
Replace (Ctrl + H): Find specific text and replace it with different text.

Select: Select text or objects within the document (e.g., select all, select
objects).
