Program Structure

Attendance
Classes are held at the same time on Tuesday evenings (6:45PM - 9:00PM) and
Saturday mornings (8:45AM - 12:30PM).

Before each class, you will have the opportunity to facilitate a Learning Exchange. This
debrief exercise will allow you to practice leading meetings and share how you've
applied your learning.

You will get more out of each learning opportunity if you are able to engage fully and
completely, including having your camera turned on and participating in class
discussions and breakouts. If you’re in a shared space, please use your best judgment
on muting your microphone as to not disrupt the session.

In the Career Shift program, we have implemented a point system to facilitate

participant progress tracking. For webinar attendance, you need to achieve a minimum
attendance rate of over 85% to sucessfully complete the program.

Quercus
Quercus is the name of the University's Learning Management System. You will find
each class listed on the homepage.

Class content may include:

1 E-learnings, job aids, case studies, readings

2 Discussion boards, reflections, and other interactive activities

3 Knowledge checks and self-assessments

It is crucial that you become comfortable with navigating and using Quercus over the
course of the program.
Pre-work and Activities

Program Activities
Pre-work and Post-work
Career Shift is a blended learning program, which means that you are expected to
thoroughly complete all pre-work before attending the webinar. Each webinar will
expand on core content and involve roleplays, practice, and discussions. You will get
the most value out of each class by coming prepared.

All activities and due dates are posted on the Quercus homepage.

Learning Exchange: Reflect, Connect & Share

In Career Shift, we try to find as many practical opportunities to practice what you've
been learning. One way we do this is by having you lead the debrief before each
session. This is both an exercise in recapping key points from the last session and an
opportunity for you to act as a facilitator and elicit thoughts, ideas, and experiences
from the cohort.

Tuesday Learning Exchange: 6:45PM-7:00PM

Saturday Learning Exchange: 8:45AM-9:00AM

Peer Support Network

This network is made and led by you. It is intended to be supportive and informative
for participating members - not only will you be able to provide solutions but you
will also receive support and more information from your peers. Think of this as a
group informational interview!
