1. Find the value of k for which the following pair of linear equations have
infinitely many solutions. 2x + 3y = 7, (k + 1)x + (2k – 1 )y = 4k + 1
3. If 51x + 23y = 116 and 23x + 51y = 106, then find the value of (x – y)
5. For what value of a if the point (3, a) lies on the line represented by 2x –
3y = 5?
7. In a two digit number, the ten’s digit number is three times the unit’s digit.
When the number is decreased by 54, the digits are reversed. Find the
number.
8. When the son will be as old as what his father is today their ages will add
upto 126 years. When the father was as old as what his son is today, their
ages added upto 38 years. Find their present ages.
9. 4 chairs and 3 tables cost ₹ 2100 and 5 chairs and 2 tables cost ₹ 1750.
Find the cost of one chair and one table separately.
10. Students of a class are made to stand in rows. If one student is extra in
a row, there would be 2 rows less. If one student is less in a row there
would be 3 rows more. Find the number of students in the class.
