Water is to be pumped from a nearby lake to an open large supply tank on the roof of a
hotel located on a certain height, h through a piping system. Referring to the Appendices
given, you are to decide on all the design parameters and use the TACO Model 4013 pump as
shown. Arrangement of more than 1 pump is allowed to satisfy the head required.

By choosing an appropriate pipe material and using Microsoft Excel;

(i) Plot and label pump performance and your system curves.
(ii) Determine the OPERATING head and the flow rate of your pumping system.
(iii) Calculate the pump power requirement based on the obtained pump efficiency at
your operating flow rate.

The assignment report must include:

 problem statement including clear illustration/diagram and assumptions,
 tabulated data and equations,
 all work and calculations.

Please submit your softcopy of Microsoft Excel to lecturer together during the report
submission.

PLAGIARISM IS NOT TOLERATED
