I am writing to express my genuine interest in pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science

at Fairleigh Dickinson University. From a young age, I have been captivated by the world of
technology, eagerly learning about all of its elements and constantly seeking to understand how
it shapes our lives. This early fascination evolved into a dedicated pursuit of computer science,
where I have gained substantial experience and developed a keen interest in data-driven
solutions and software engineering.

In 2018, I earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from Nitte Meenakshi Institute
of Technology (VTU) in Bangalore, India, with a CGPA of 7.57. During my undergraduate
studies, I had the opportunity to delve into various facets of computer science. From software
development to system architecture and data management, each subject captivated my interest
and fueled my curiosity. One of the highlights of my academic journey was leading a team in
designing a Fingerprint Authentication System for my final-year project, which not only
showcased my technical prowess but also honed my leadership and project management skills.
I was responsible for a lot of the technicality and architecture of the system. We ended up using
a Raspberry PI, Fingerprint R307 module, GSM module (for text messages) and PHP and
MySQL.

My exposure to Big Data in the final years of my academic tenure sparked a deep interest in
leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to tackle complex challenges. In my
coursework and project I had the opportunity to dive into the traditional system such as Hadoop
as well as the highly prevalent cloud technologies as well. One notable project involved scraping
and analyzing social media data to predict consumer trends, which not only honed my technical
skills but also highlighted the transformative impact of data-driven decision-making. This
experience ignited a passion within me to explore the realms of data science and architecture,
laying the foundation for my future in these areas.

In the 3rd year during my undergraduate studies I had a serious car accident while on my way
to college. The aftermath of the event left me with a broken humerus in my right arm, a
shattered right leg and severe nerve damage, which posed significant hurdles to my academic
ambitions as I was bedridden for 6 months. The physical limits caused by these injuries
inevitably hampered my capacity to actively participate in my studies, resulting in a brief loss in
my academic performance. Despite facing setbacks I remained steadfast in my commitment to
learning and growth and later had to navigate through a competitive job market with these
setbacks, but ultimately persevered and landed my first role as a Quality Assurance Engineer.

My role as a Quality Assurance Engineer at SPI Nepal Pvt. Ltd. and later as a Big Data
Developer at Ek Solutions Pvt. Ltd. provided me with invaluable insights into the internal
workings of an IT organization and practical experience in leveraging data to drive business
insights and strategic decision-making. At SPI Nepal, I was responsible for ensuring the quality
and reliability of a B2B software product, which involved rigorous testing and validation
processes. This role honed my analytical skills and attention to detail, essential traits for any
data-driven profession.
Transitioning to Ek Solutions, I took on the role of Big Data Developer, where I gained hands-on
experience with various advanced technologies. I conducted extensive research, developed
proof of concepts and also implemented them. I ended up working with the emerging
technologies in the market, such as Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Kafka, and Spark. This research
was crucial in understanding their potential applications and benefits for the organization.

In addition, I was tasked with setting up servers for distributed deployments and managing data
flow, ensuring that our systems could handle large volumes of data efficiently and reliably. For
instance, implementing Elasticsearch improved our data retrieval times significantly, while
integrating Kafka and Spark enabled real-time data processing and analytics, providing the
company’s clients with up-to-the-minute insights that informed strategic decisions. Having
worked with on premise servers and applications, this propelled my understanding of computer
systems.

However, it was my experience at Fusemachines Inc. that marked a significant milestone in my

career. Joining a dynamic team, I played a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge solutions
utilizing cloud-based platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Platform and Databricks. When I
initially joined the organization there were a mere 3 Data Engineers including me, I played a
major role growing the team exponentially to over 25 talents over the span of 3 years. My
contributions extended beyond technical expertise; as I mentored and nurtured these new
engineers, as well fostered a culture of learning and growth. Now Fusemachines, is planning to
go public and is going to be the first company originated from Nepal that is going to list in
Nasdaq.

My decision to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University

stems from my desire to explore the fascinating intersections of software engineering, artificial
intelligence, and data science as well as my passion for leveraging technology to create
meaningful change in people's lives. I am eager to deepen my knowledge of advanced data
analytics, including machine learning and predictive modeling, as well as cloud computing
technologies like AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform. I am particularly interested in
exploring scalable architectures, such as microservices and distributed systems, through a
rigorous curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities.

Post-graduation my goal is to help businesses design and implement innovative solutions to

table complex challenges and ultimately become a software architect in the long run.
Additionally, I aspire to contribute to the evolving field of data architecture, designing robust
systems for efficient data management and fostering data-driven decision-making processes
within organizations.

Overall, I am excited about the prospect of joining Fairleigh Dickinson University's vibrant
academic community and contributing to the ongoing advancements in the field of computer
science. I am confident that the Master's program will provide me with the knowledge,
understanding, and resources that I will need to excel in my chosen field. Thank you for
considering my application, and I look forward to the opportunity to further discuss my
candidacy.
