ABSTRACT

The study investigated the parental influence on the career choice of

students in Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. The sample

comprised of 100 students randomly selected from five secondary schools in

Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. A questionnaire was

constructed for each respondent by the researcher and administered to elicit

responses from the respondents. The data was analyzed using mean

value .finding of this study showed that parents influenced student’s choice

of career. Conclusion were made, it was recommended that the service of

guidance and counsellor are indispensable in the school system. Parents

should not force their occupation on their children.
