Welcome Remark

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb

W e praise and thank Allah SWT for all His grace and guidance so that we can still
live and work well. With prayers and greetings, we praise His Majesty the Prophet
Muhammad SAW who has brought us to a world full of knowledge.
The National Congress of Indonesian Society of Endocrinology is a national event
of the Indonesian Society of Endocrinology (PERKENI). KONAS PERKENI is an effort to
improve services quality, medical knowledge and quality of education along with exchange
experiences and skills with Indonesian endocrine, metabolic and diabetes experts.
We, as hosts, are happy and proud to invite colleagues to attend The 13th National
Congress of the Indonesian Society of Endocrinology which will be held in Banda Aceh,
26-29 September 2024. But before that, the series of events would start on 20-22
September 2024, consisting of an online session symposium. The KONAS PERKENI raised
the theme “Update on Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes in Facing the Challenges
of Indonesia’s Health Transformation”. Along with it, at this event, the 12th NATIONAL
ENDOCRINOLOGY FORUM (FEN) will also be held.
The Organizing Committee invites all participants to actively contribute to the
success of this great activity. This important meeting will be attended by all PERKENI
members in Indonesia.
Banda Aceh, a unique and Islamic city, hosts this event, presenting various
spectacular tours and culinary delights. Make sure you participate in this activity. Through
this Congress, it is hoped that we can increase our capacity and strengthen our role and
function, especially in improving health services in the field of Internal Medicine, especially
in the areas of endocrine, metabolic and diabetes.
We would like to express our thanks to all parties who supported the 13th National
Congress of the Indonesian Society of Endocrinology and we hope it will be useful in
improving health in Indonesia. Honoring guests with “pemulia jame” is the custom of the
Acehnese people. It is an honor for us to be able to welcome you all in 2024 in Banda
Aceh.

Abstract Submission Guideline

The abstract submission will be divided into 3 categories:
A. Case Report
B. Original article
C. Literature review

1) STRUCTURE
• Title: Maximum of 120 characters (including space).
• Author: The number of authors is not limited.
• Contents
1. Case report consists of background, case illustration, discussion, conclusion, and
references.
2. Original article and literature review consist of background, objective, method, result,
discussion, conclusion, and references.
• Word count: Maximum of 250 words (for the whole abstract).
• Language: English

2) SUBMISSION GUIDELINE
• Abstract submission is open online until 31 Augustus 2024 (GMT +8) at
[email protected]
• 13th KONAS PERKENI 2024 accepts Instruction Free Paper, E-poster and Video submission.
• All abstracts must be submitted in English exclusively via the online abstract submission
system. Submissions by post, email, fax or any other means will NOT be accepted.
• AUTHORS – FIRST (PRESENTING) AUTHOR – The first author will be the presenting
author. The first (presenting) author is expected to register and pay the full registration
fee, attend the Congress and make the presentation.
• Please provide an accurate email address and handphone number for the first (presenting)
author. Abstract submission results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent by
email to the first author.
• Authors can submit a maximum of 5 abstracts and they can serve as the first author of
3 submitted abstracts at most. Among the 3 abstracts, they can present a maximum of 2
abstracts that are of the same presentation type.
• CO-AUTHOR(S) – A maximum of five co-authors are allowed for each abstract. Type in
the names and affiliations as you would like them to appear in any publications. Please
give the names in full for each of the co-authors. Initials are only accepted for middle

• The ABSTRACT TITLE must be concise. Avoid using abbreviations in the title.
• Abstract content (excluding title, authors, highest degrees and institutions) should include
the following headings: INTRODUCTION, OBJECTIVES, METHODS, RESULTS and
CONCLUSION. The abstract must not exceed 250 words. Do not include graphs, tables,
images or references in the abstract.
• Please define each abbreviation the first time it is used in the abstract by placing what it
stands for in parentheses.
• It is the author’s responsibility to submit an abstract with correct spelling and grammar. The
Selection Committee, however, reserves the right to edit the abstract if it has significant
spelling and grammatical mistakes.
• All successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt with
an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence. If you
do not receive an acknowledgement within 48 hours after submission, please contact the
Congress Secretariat at: dr. Azizah Dhena Harca (+62 813-5098-6979)
• The Selection Committee strongly recommends that authors submit their abstracts as
early as possible to avoid a last-minute rush and system congestion. When the abstract is
submitted, it can still be revised until 31 Augustus 2024. Kindly note that only the latest
version will be reviewed.
• Late submissions will NOT be considered.
• Submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Selection Committee. The review process
is confidential and the decision is final.
• Authors will be notified of the abstract selection results no later than 1 September 2024
• Authors may be given the option to change the format of their presentation as a condition
for acceptance.
• 13th KONAS PERKENI 2024 holds the copyright to all the materials presented at the
Congress and may reproduce the materials in any form for distribution.

4) FREE PAPERS
• Please select the right category for the abstract.
• Free paper submissions include an oral presentation. Any accepted authors will need to
present a talk of 8 (eight) minutes for the presentation, with an additional 2 (two) minutes
for questions and answers with the judges and the audience
• Presentation materials should be in ppt or pptx format
• If ‘Free Paper’ is selected to be the first preference, and the secondary preference
‘E-Poster’ is chosen, authors will have the opportunity to have the abstract reviewed for
e-poster presentation in the event that it is not accepted for free paper presentation.
• Author must upload the Papers to the congress system by 31 Augustus 2024.

5) CHECKLIST
Before submission, please check:
• If the abstract has a concise, descriptive title;
• If the study has sufficient data leading to conclusive outcomes;
• If the abstract states clearly the purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the study;
• If the study is conducted in a methodologically correct way;
• If the abstract is proofread and/or edited by a native speaker of English;
• If the abstract is within the word limit;
• If financial disclosures for each of the authors are made.

6) ONLINE SUBMISSION

All abstracts accepted in the congress will be published in the supplementary

edition and have a chance to published full text (case report, original article, and
literature review) in Indonesian Journal of Endocrinology Metabolism and Diabetes
(InaJEMD).
