simulating the heat transfer behavior through nonwoven date cover. The
study also intended to use finite element method and adaptive mesh refine

efficient simulation of heat exchange in nonwoven bag. The proposed model
was validated by the uniformity between simulating and experimental
results. A detailed numerical study was conducted to find the influence of
air permeability on heat transfer through nonwoven textiles. Results demon
strated that the reduction of nonwoven permeability is beneficial to mini
mize the heat taken away by forced convection by decreasing the inner air
transportation.
Introduction
‘Deglet Nour’ is one of the most popular date palm cultivars that produce some dates of high quality
highly appreciated on the national and international markets (Zehdi et al. 2004, S. Rhouma et al. 2007).
However, wet weather, heavy rains, and carob moth can cause major problems such as the loss of
a significant amount of dates causing a decrease in export opportunities more than 10% and the
incorrect assessment of mainly European consumer (El-Juhany 2010). For improving the yield and
fruit quality of dates, bunch covering was applied successfully (Al-Saikhan 2008; Al- Wasfy 2014).
Covering the bunch is one of the control tactics that is believed effective to protect the most sensitive
stage of date fruit (Guedri, Jaouadi, and Msahli 2016; Mostafa et al. 2014). In fact, there are different
bagging materials that allow this protection such as polyethylene, nylon or polypropylene (PP) bags,
