What I Need to Know
This module provides discussion and series of activities that will give you a deep
understanding about analyzing signs, electrical symbols and data
What I Know
Good day! I hope that you are energized today. Make yourself physically and
mentally ready for our new lesson. But before that, let us check your prior knowledge about
our new lesson. Try to answer the following questions.
Like it or not!
Directions: The following are the symbols and their descriptions used in an electrical
installation. Analyze the symbol and its function carefully. Choose the thumbs up
icon if it’s paired up correctly and thumbs down icon if otherwise. Write you answer on your
answer sheet.

What is It
The electrical symbols and description are essential because this would help you
simplify the drafting and understand the drawing. In order to achieve the ability to interpret
the drawings and their related symbol meanings, electrical symbols added lines, dots,
shadings, letters, and numbers to give a specific meaning to a symbol.
Practically any electrical fixture found in a house has a symbol written in an electrical
wiring diagram. These are very useful guide for a certified electrician thus, making the
wiring easier to install as well.

ELECTRICAL SIGNS
Electrical Sign is a warning icon in a picture symbol intended to alert you or instruct you
how to avoid potentially hazardous. Designed to protect individuals and to ensure necessary
controls are being practice for the safe use of electricity at work.
A large part of being safe around electricity understands common electrical signs,
whether you work in direct contact with electricity or simply encounter electrical appliances at
home.
Proper electrical signs can alert everyone to electrical hazards in the area and workers
to high voltage areas, electrical hazards, power lines and other electrical equipment in the
area.
7
Electrical hazard- indicates that electrical hazard is
present in the area.

You are awesome because you’ve come this far. In this stage, you will apply what you’ve
learned about the lesson.
Directions: To avoid the possible hazards that could happen, create a simple layout of your
house. In your own understanding, indicate the possible electrical signs that can be used in
your lay out. Do these in another sheet of paper. (see rubrics in appendix)
