Cold Email Strategies

Outline
⇒ The method explained
⇒ Platforms to use
⇒ Where to find emails
⇒ Mail merge method
⇒ Apollo.io method
⇒ Outsourced method
⇒ Understanding deliverability and warming up your email
⇒ Sample scripts to use in your outreach
⇒ Where to find more scripting ideas

The Method Explained

⇒ Source / get a list of emails in a niche/industry/region that you would
like to target
⇒ Either manually email them one by one - or - use a platform to email
a large quantity at once
⇒ Begin email using scripts outlined below
⇒ Follow-up accordingly and wait for a response
⇒ Once a response is received - answer any questions, handle any
objections, and move forward with scheduling a meeting!
⇒ Cold email is a numbers game - The more emails you send out, the
more responses that you receive
⇒ Do not be afraid to test more email templates and ideas - ours
provided in the course has worked amazingly well for students as well
as ourselves - but it is not the only option. Try new things!

Platforms to Use
⇒ Normal GSuite email (how we got started)
⇒ Mail Merge Platform (Yet another mail merge, GMass, etc.)
⇒ Apollo.io
⇒ Lemlist

Where to find emails

⇒ D7Leadfinder
⇒ Apollo.io
⇒ Google Local Search
⇒ Yellow Pages
⇒ Buy a list from UpWork.com or Fiverr.com

How to do a mail merge

● Install YAMM / Yet Another Mail Merge into Google Docs

● Create a “draft” email in your Google Email Account
● Add your contacts to a google doc in your drive
● Go to Addons - YAMM
● Start Mail Merge
● Choose draft
● Send or Schedule!

How to use Apollo.io

Example scripting for Apollo.io
● Create Apollo.io account
● Integrate GMail or add during sign up
● Ensure that sending limits are less than 20 per hour and less
than 100 per day to start

● Go to sequences
● Create 2-3 step email sequence with example scripting
● Add emails from excel doc and map fields
● Add to sequence!

Understanding Deliverability
⇒ Deliverability = Your emails making it to the inbox
⇒ In order to ensure good deliverability, you want to “warm up” your
email address
⇒ Either begin by sending a small amount of emails + subscribing to
email lists like Groupon etc. that emulate normal human behavior, or
sign up for Lemwarm so that you can start sending out larger numbers of
emails over time
⇒ You also want to make sure that you are cleaning your list using a
platform like neverbounce prior to sending so that you do not affect your
sender rating

Example warm up sequence:

Day 1: 5 emails
Day 2: 5 emails
Day 3: 10 emails
Day 4: 10 emails
Day 5: 20 emails
Day 6: 20 emails

And so on.. Daily sending limit through GSuite is 400 per day, you do
not want to be sending this many per day, typically you want to max
this at around 100 to be safe (per account)

⇒ You may also consider buying another domain - just for your emails
so that your normal use deliverability doesn’t get compromised

⇒ Another option is to use an SMTP server (advanced tactic - not

necessary for beginners)
