It all starts with the Customer
Voice of the Customer
e …
To improve customer satisfaction, we
must understand what is important to
the customer, their expressed and
unexpressed needs.
Understanding the VOC must be done
during the planning phase and translate
it into metrics that address what is
important to the customer in terms of
service, quality and delivery.

How does the customer feel about product features?
Kano Model
A graphical approach for evaluating the relative importance of delighters,
satisfiers and dissatisfiers from the customer point of view.
Discover what product or service features customers value the most.

Quality Function Deployment

Useful tool for translating the VOC to specific and measurable requirements that
can be used to design improved products and processes.

Designs that always work
Product Reliability
Probability a product will adequately
perform its specified purpose for a
specified period under specified
conditions.
Reliability can be used to determine the
life expectancy of a particular design.
Reliability can be used to validate
improvements made in a new design.

Robust Processes
Process Capability
Process capability helps us quantify how well a process can meet customer’s
specifications.
Process capability helps us determine the best way to improve and monitor
processes to make sure they can meet customers needs.
Design of Experiments
It is a systematic method used to evaluate the effect of input variables (factors)
on the output (response).
Many factors can be efficiently evaluated by running a subset of the total
number of combinations that exist.

Exceeding Customer Expectations
Monte Carlo Simulation
Quantitative analysis that accounts for
the risk and uncertainty of a system by
including the variability in the inputs.
The simulation provides expected
values based on equations that define
the relationship between the inputs (X)
and outputs (Y).
These may be known equations or
based on models created from a
designed experiment (DOE).

Disruption calls for bold decisions and ruthless focus
Post COVID pandemic, conserving cash and
containing costs have become urgent priorities.
Balance between innovation and efficiency on
the accelerated timeline of today’s market.
Real-time model: do more, do it faster, and do it
with fewer resources.
Organizations must become more intelligent in
the way they’re structured and how they operate.
Hierarchies and silos are less important than
seamless collaboration.
