Construction
Create your granny square motifs by crocheting them in
the round. Make the required number of squares for
your desired size and then seam them together using
the flat slip stitch join method, following the size
diagrams. Please note that XS/S and XL-3X sizes have a
4" neck opening, while M/L and 4X/5X sizes have an 8"
neck opening and less coverage across the chest.
Choose your size based on the desired finished
measurements. Adding the ribbed collar will add an
additional 5" to the finished chest measurements below.

order (Hip Length 3 (3, 4, 4) balls); add an additional ball for the tunic length. The amounts listed
above are for simple edging.
Sizes XL-3X hip length require precisely 2 balls each of A-D and M/L MC precisely 5 balls. However,
to ensure you have enough yarn for your project, we recommend ordering extra yarn as

TECHNIQUES -
THUMB JOIN
The thumb join is a speedy method
to join yarn, which can be used to
change colours or add a new ball of
yarn. While it may take a few tries to
perfect this technique, enthusiasts of
all skill levels can easily learn it with
some practice.

Step 1: Hold the tail ends of the yarn between

your thumb and index finger. Place the new
ball of yarn on the outer side of your thumb.

Step 2: Take the new yarn and wrap it two

times around your thumb and the tail ends.
On the third wrap, go between the tail ends
and your thumb.

Step 3: Take both the tail ends and tuck them

Video over the yarn strand and under your thumb.

Step 4: Pinch the tails with your thumb and

pull on both ends of the yarn to knot. Trim the
tails if needed.
