SCOPE OF THE WORK ““LAN & WI-FI EXTENSION AT ENTIRE CPMG BUILDING”

AT OFFICE OF THE CHIEF POSTMASTER GENERAL ”

1) 130 Points Data Networking, Structured, 1Gig

2) 200 Mtrs Cat6 A UTP backbone, Indoor,
3) Appx.3400 Mtrs Cat 6A (10Gig) copper backbone for inside the building
4) Core Locations at Server Room
5) Distribution Points are 6 Nos.
6) Appx. 30 locations are Access/Edge x-Connect area
7) 10 nos of Access points for complete Wi-fi network.
8) Entire Building high-speed secured Network with 100 user firewall layer of security

Office of the Chief Postmaster General Shillong is planning to establish its infrastructure for DATA
Communications system through wired and wireless medium. The entire project for “procurement
supply installation testing & commissioning” will be treated as GEM Custom Bid procurements.
The entire procurement & installation will be done at “ CPMG Building” at Office of the Chief
Postmaster General”
In this project it is planned to implement 130 DATA points drop throughout the Main building
only, with very high speed will be established that is capable of handling maximum level of security.
The entire building has 5stories where various different rooms and few storage spaces are very
adjacent to each other.
Distributions of these 130 DATA points will be handed-over to successful bidder, where all the
130DATA points will be installed for admin purpose.

This Entire Networking should be of high speed as per the specifications and horizontal cabling will
be of CAT/6(1Gig) standard. Inside the building copper backbone CAT/6A(10Gig) will be used for
“Distributions to Access” connectivity. Every distribution points will be connected through UTP
CAT/6A(10Gig) connectivity only and the connections will be in active mode.

At the Existing Server Room, one Appx. 100 user Firewall will be installed and configure to the
existing Active components. The Existing Core Switch will be interlinked with the Existing
Distribution Switches Active-Active mode. From these switches, all distributions switches in the
building will be connected directly by passive looping/direct method. From Distributions, all access
switches will be connected for respective departments, and I/O box will be transmitted the data to
all the devices. The entire network will be managed in CPMG by Existing concept. These NMS will
be established as the single window wiremap of the entire build wide network installation, under
the scope.
As per the schedule, structured networking will be installed inside the building which is as per
latest standard of EIA/TIA568 rules. All respective points will be distributed from nearest/dedicated
rack positions.

Tagged Info-Outlet and Patch cords are needed to be installed for different purpose according to the
Execution & distribution plan. There need to be proper numbering system with color-code for easy
and standard identification where ferrule marking to all cables is must.

Inside the building, all cables need to be laid down through 100mmX 50MM PVC Trunking channel
as per prior approval along with bend corner etc. for smooth finishing and I/O and Access point
distribution cables need to be laid down through 1” PVC Capping Casing only.

Following details will be shared with the successful bidder:

 Copper Point Distributions List

 Core+ Distribution + Access Rack + Access point Locations
 Backbone Distributions
 Tray Path Distributions
 All respective (as per the requirement of institutions) configuration details of
Switching
(Like IP, Username, Password, Gateway, VLAN, STP, Trunking, Security, QoS, SSID,
Group, Bandwidth etc.)

Applicable parameters against acceptance of the entire project from successful

bidder/installer:-

 All the Product should not be manufactured in any country sharing land border with India.
 All the Major Passive equipment’s require OEM Authorizations for these specific BID
 All design and drawing need to be submitted both in Softcopy and Hardcopy format.
 All Copper points CAT6A scanner test report need to be submitted within the limit of NEXT
FEXT etc.
 Any Copper loss will not be accepted beyond as per Campus Wide Structured Networking
 Norms based on EIA/TIA 568 or relevant standard process.
 Complete DATA flow performance will be acceptable by “Protocol Scanner Test Report”
between all ACTIVE components (Switches & devices)
