We hope your preparations are going well for Test 2, which will be written on the 9th of June
2023 at 08:30. The test will cover Learning units 1 – 12. The test will count sixty (60) marks.
Students who have been approved for extra time will receive a separate communication on
their mylife email account to direct them on the process for submission.
We would like to highlight the following important aspects for Test 2 for MAC3761.
1. Test 2 will be an online assessment and work the same as test 1. Please ensure that
you have all the necessary resources (internet connectivity, pdf converter/scanner app
(Microsoft Office lens is preferred) to ensure minimal disruptions during the test. Your
answers can be handwritten or typed, but they MUST be converted to a PDF file.
Only PDF documents will be allowed and all word/excel documents must be saved as
ONE PDF file before it can be submitted.
2. Refer to the student guides in the folder “Important test instructions and student guides”
on the Welcome Page of myUNISA for MAC3761-23-Y.
3. The Invigilator App / IRIS will NOT BE USED during Test 2 for MAC3761 and NO
emailed submissions will be accepted.
4. Students can download the Test 2 question paper from the myExams platform
(https://cas.myexams.unisa.ac.za). On the website under the myExams TAB,
MAC3761 will be listed (MAC3761-23-Y). It looks like this:
Test 2 Communication 2023
5. Under the applicable module you will find a folder to access your paper – 2 (Test 2)
(visible when the time for the test starts).
6. The question paper will be available at the start of the session, i.e 08:30.
7. The test will be written from 08:30 to 11:00 and this includes 15 minutes to download
and read the test paper and 30 minutes to upload your answer script.
8. You MUST start the upload process promptly at 10:30. The system will close after
the allowed upload time (11:00) and NO late submissions will not be accepted.
9. DO NOT continue writing during the additional upload time. It is clear from the
previous exam sessions that students often battle with submission if you leave this to
the last minute. The system will be slow since myUnisa is very busy at that stage and
you need to allow enough time to upload.
10. Students are however advised that queries that are beyond Unisa’s control include the
following:

Test 2 Communication 2023
e. Crashed computer
f. Using work computers that block access to the myExams (work firewall challenges)
g. Unlicensed software (e.g., license expires during exams).
11. Once the assessment sessions end, students must submit the scanned answer scripts
on myExams. Please note you will do your submission in the same Assignment
2 (Test 2) folder from which you downloaded your Test – you will find a grey
button to Submit at the bottom of the page.
12. Students who cannot access myExams to upload their answer sheets should use the
following (contingency) link:
https://tinyurl.com/TESTS2023
NB - Please note that this option must only be used if you struggle to upload
your script on myExams.
13. The final submission of your answer script will be on myExams or the contingency
link above, and these two systems are the only valid platforms for submission that will
be accepted by the university.
14. The declaration is online, and you will need to self-declare. As part of the declaration,
you will need to type in the two separate words, “I AGREE” and this should be done
for each module submission.
15. The University takes unethical and dishonest behaviour of students very seriously.
Such behaviour tarnishes not only the reputation that Unisa has strived to uphold over
its long legacy, but also undermines the sincere efforts of other students who desist
from such practices. We held Student Disciplinary Hearings for plagiarism cases
investigated in prior years. Students who have contravened the examination
procedures/ who have plagiarised have been suspended from the course. Please take
care that you submit your own work as per the Declaration.
16. Students are once again reminded that NO late or emailed submissions will be
allowed.
17. If you experience technical problems, of any kind, and no file is uploaded by the cut-
off time on the day of the test, you will be marked as absent. No other arrangements
can be made.
18. Loadshedding – if you are anticipating loadshedding in your area during the
assessment time (08:30 to 11:00) or you may have internet connection challenges,
you are advised to consider travelling to an area where the connection will be stable.
Your assessment will not be marked if you fail to submit the assessment by 11:00am
on the 9th of June.
