3 Design Calculation of Stair

The waist of the stair is designed as one-way slab. Cross section of the stair is
described in Figure 4.32 and reinforcement schedule is described in table 4.26.

Specifications: Floor height = 10’ 6”

: No of steps = 10 steps

: Stair width = 4 ft

: Rise = 6 inches

: Thread = 9 inches

: Thickness of waist slab = 6 inches

: Horizontal length of stair = 9.15 ft

Loads : Finishing load per unit length = 20 lb/ft

: Live load per unit length = 100 lb/ft
