1. List out various steps to search for a file or folder

➔ Click or tap the File Explorer button on the taskbar on the desktop.

Open the Explorer window at the place where you want to check.

In the Search window, press or tap.

There is a search button. Discuss the quick search tab.

Type of a phrase or part of a word.

When you type, programs and files that fit your text will appear highlighted in the Search Results
window. You don't have to press the Enter button.

2. Describe the Following

a. Recycle Bin

➔ Recycle Bin is a Windows desktop symbol that represents a directory where deleted
files are stored temporarily. This helps you to restore files that you might have
unintentionally lost. You'll want to purge the recycling bin from time to time to free
up space on your hard disk. You may still customize Windows and not use the
recycling bin at all, however, still you won't be able to restore unintentionally
removed data. The recycling bin is modeled after the Macintosh trash can that has
been part of the Mac Interface since its conception.

b. Task Bar

➔ The taskbar is an aspect of a graphical user interface that has several functions.
Usually, it indicates which services are actually running. By pressing these icons, the
user can quickly move between programs or windows, with the currently running
program or window typically showing differently from the rest of the program.

c. Quitting a Program

➔ Force quit is a process used to shut down non-responsive computer programs. This
process is achieved by pressing a number of function keys. It makes it easier for you
to quit unresponsive programs or errors easily. Generally, it is done by pressing the
Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys at the same time, which opens the Windows Task Manager,
and then you can easily select and force the application to quit.

d. File Management in Windows

➔ The process of administering a system that handles digital data correctly is file
management. The overall function of a business workflow is therefore improved by
an efficient file management system. It also organizes important information for quick
retrieval and provides a searchable database.

3. Write down the steps to delete a file or folder from the computer

➔ Locate the folder that you intend to uninstall. You can search for folders using
Windows Search, or open File Explorer by pressing Win+E.

Right-click the folder that you intend to uninstall. The menu will be expanded.

Click the Erase tab. This sends the archive to the recycling bin, where it sits until you empty
it.

Depending on the folder, you will need to input a password for the administrator to validate.

If you see an error when a file is "write-protected," this means that the folder contains read-
only data which cannot be erased. You can see this error if you are attempting to uninstall a
folder that is required to run Windows.

4. What are the steps to install software in the computer.

➔ Install the program from the program's website.

Open your download archive.

If the file you downloaded is an executable file, double click the file icon to start the setup
process. If the downloaded file is compressed (e.g., zip), the contents of the file must be
removed before the setup can begin. Luckily, this feature is integrated into most versions of
Windows.

If the files have been extracted, double-click the setup or install tab to install the software.

5. Write down various steps to rename a file or folder

➔ Click or tap the File Explorer button on the taskbar on the desktop.

Pick a file or folder that you wish to rename.

Tap on the Home tab or press the Rename button. ...

When the name is chosen, enter a new name, or press or tap to set the insertion point, and
then modify the name.
